rmart. I'm still here. TOM is getting on a lot of radars now. It should be a good day when that listing becomes reality. (Just a quick ramp!)

No, not me. I'm staring at a sea of red (apart from AFC Energy who are helping me keep the faith).

Hoping MMS rise on re-admission to above 2.1p and maybe will release some funds for something else.

Good luck with Tomco.

I am hoping timing finally comes good for me this time around.

Tomco to relist on 31st May and share price to go into double figures and MMS to come back so I can get another bag full at a decent price.

Its about time something good happened for me.

Aside from godolphin has anyone else here looked at/bought into the Tomco placing?

They need $100m and the project is potentially successful with an average price of $425. Interesting read.

As is this.

Article from the Guardian about commodity prices....mainly gold.

Presumably Firebird are dreaming of fridge demand in the China and India.

Traders and economists are divided about whether last week's rout marks the top of the commodities market, or represents a temporary blip before prices continue to surge.

However, most distinguish between the long term and the short term. At some point in the short term, commodity prices will flatten, or quite possibly fall, but in the longer term, the upward trend must continue. Derek Holt, vice-president Economics at Scotia Capital, in Toronto, said: "In the longer run, we are only in the early days of the commodities boom. Only 15% of households in India have a fridge and while China may now be the biggest car market in the world, it has only a fraction of the penetration of the US or UK. Emerging market growth has a long way to go and will put huge pressure on commodity prices."

Another snippet.

" Canada Fluorspar, given a buy rating and price target of $1.00, is developing its fluorspar project in St. Lawrence, Newfoundland, which is expected to produce between 120,000 to 180,000 tonnes per year over a 20-year mine life. Production of fluorspar, which is used as feedstock in the manufacturing of hydrofluoric acid, is expected to begin in the first half of 2013."

$1 would give a mkt cap of about £50m, and that presumably before they shift any fluorspar. They have a lot of work to do and investment needed.

I think this was on the cards.....

China's Ministry of Land & Resources has announced a new "resource exploitation" quota for fluorspar mining for 2011.

From

China's Ministry of Land & Resources has announced a new "resource exploitation" quota for fluorspar mining for 2011. The new limit will be 10.5 million tonnes, a drop of 500,000t over last year.

At the same time, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has announced that all remaining "wet" production capacity must close by the end of next month.

We don't expect the latter announcement to have any impact on the market. We believe the market will be influenced more by simple market forces of profitability and price elasticity. Some producers, both inside and outside China, are already converting their production facilities to HF, as they can make more money from the sale of HF than they can from ALF3.

The limitation on fluorspar mining may be tested by some miners, though we think it is more likely that the threat of heavy fines will deter too many over-runs. Some fluorspar is still being traded on the black market, including some sales to India. But overall, we expect the cost of ALF3 to go up as the price of fluorspar rises in response to an increased mismatch between supply and demand.

Nothing too much really to post at the moment but whilst we wait think this is worth a revisit.

in tandem with

Firebird have over 53% holding in Berkh-Ull. Not sure about Mongolian Exchange rules and if such a holding would trigger a mandatory offer.

Worth a quick Geography lesson to see where Berkh-uul is located in relation to the Chinese and Russian borders.

Nothing to do with MMS (yet) but part of the growing Firebird fluorspar portfolio and certainly a potential customer for FluorOne.

GD,
I remember reading somewhere a vague mention that suggested Firebird were waiting for a specific event in the fluorspar sector, (this was in an article that cited Nicolas Davidoff. Maybe the decoupling in you previous post could be such an event ?

more wait and see...

"9:06AM China Shen Zhou Mining unit to increase fluorite powder prices to RMB3,100 per ton (~$470 per ton) from RMB2,500 per ton (~$380 per ton) on May 1 (SHZ) 4.74 : Last year, due to the insufficient cash flow of its operations, Xiangzhen's signed sales orders at fixed sales prices and received cash more than 3 months in advance from customers. Therefore, the Company did not receive any benefit from the increase in the market price of fluorite ores. Although the market price of fluorite ore increased from approximately $118 per ton at the beginning of 2010 to $295 per ton by the end of 2010, Xiangzhen's average selling price for fluorite powder was only $163.78 per ton. However, Xiangzhen can fully benefit from this year's price increase."

Mkt cap of China Shen Zhou is $156m. Yet they only produce a fraction of Sallies.

Thanks dreggs your 4387

Wonder if Kofsky is going to take any of his team at CMC with him. Offer them a decent share options package and then wait for ....

It may take some years but anyone had the thought that one day FluorOne could become a listed Co in its own right, either through a Firebird shell RTO or IPO. It is the way Passin works, dyr. This would also offer Kofsky a huge incentive. One step at a time eh but the potential for FluorOne is very exciting.

Davidoff just adds his comment

After the last placing Firebird had 55.8% and Macquarie 28.5%. I assume Macquarie are here for medium/long term. Then we have director holdings and the Lawrence Enterprise Fund. Not a lot left. Of course after the RTO Firebird end up with a staggering %. I reckon that despite there being 1bn+ shares in total after the RTO there will be a lot less than 100m in private hands.

Does anyone know what percentatge of the shares are held by private investors?

Presumably if this amount is relatively low then the spike in price is more likely when trading resumes?

Having said that the way Firebird are putting this together it looks like on the hold onto for some time.

Whilst Kofsky gets no mention, this is an example of what we can possibily presume he has knowledge of from CMC

Could be a nice earner. Could see Canada Fluorspar as a potential customer, offtake agreement could be the enabler for the finance to bring mine into operation. You could also say TYM may have need of FluorOne's services.

Presume Kofsky has already had experience with Sallies, albeit story a little out of date now.

"Dale has overhauled the way Sallies sells its fluorspar, bringing in New York-based CMC Cometals, a dominant trader of the commodity, as its new marketing company"

This is shaping up rather nicely and if I may say so a very welcome and unexpected twist to our Co's progress. In particular like the bracketed bit at the end.

The new trading company - to be called FluorOne Trading BVI ("FluorOne") - will be owned 49% as to Maghreb and 51% as to Mr. Kofsky. The Company's business will involve the purchase, sale, storage, transport, offtake, hedging, marketing or other dealing of fluorspar products (whether produced by the Maghreb group of companies or otherwise).

So we have a 49% stake in a Co that is not only going to market ( did you notice ) the Mahgreb 'group' of Companies ( is that a hint of what it is to come? ) but also be able trade, transport, store etc etc OTHER Co's products.

Not at all worried if the admission document not published until end Q2. Still of the opinion KFC and Sallies will not be the only Co's included in our ' group of companies '. Firebird have not acquired over 50% of Berkh Ull for nothing. There is also 20% of Canada Fluorspar.

It would appear that Firebird are positioning MMS ( watch out for a name change ) as a dominant force in the Fluorspar industry.

What next ? a move into downstream activities ( Hydrofluoric acid as example ) or is that already anticipated within the business plan of FluorOne under "other dealing of fluorspar products"

Boris, it is just because they now say the end of the second quarter, instead of just the second quarter;

"Further to the announcements on 24 December 2010 concerning the proposed acquisitions of interests in Sallies Limited and Kenya Fluorspar Limited (collectively the "Acquisitions"), the company wishes to update the shareholders on progress towards finalising these transactions and readmitting the Company to the AIM Market. The Acquisitions constitute a reverse takeover of the Company for the purposes of the AIM Rules for Companies. The Company is currently working with its advisers on the preparation of an AIM admission document which it expects to be able to publish before the

end of the second quarter of 2011."

But of course they could do it tomorrow just to show we are wrong.

I don't think this is a further delay...

The RNS of the 15 the Feb states the following,

The Company is currently working with its advisers on the preparation of an AIM admission document which it expects to be able to publish in the second quarter of 2011.

Have I got this wrong ?
