16/7/2021 09:39 | Peter Gyllenhammar's track record is certainly mixed but he has made around £50m from the stock market so he's not unsuccessful. I wouldn't think he's planning on holding for a particularly long time, he also tends to be activist and will make changes to realise value. If he manages to realise a decent profit in a relatively short space of time then I would expect him to sell out and move on. Whether or not his holding is a good thing will remain to be seen. | arthur_lame_stocks

15/7/2021 14:56 | Anyone have any thoughts on the recent changes in LPA's shareholder register?. Cannacord, which used to be the biggest shareholder with 7.8%, has sold out and the elderly Peter Gyllenhammar has taken a 6.19% stake, making him the third biggest shareholder after Peter Pollock and Michael Rusch, former LPA executives. The only remaining institution with a disclosable stake is Simon Knott's Rights and Issues Investment Trust with 4.83%. Gyllenhammar seems to specialise in buying stakes in UK small caps selling at a discount to book value, and LPA fits the bill on this score. But his track record in picking winners in UK small cap investing does not look particularly remarkable. There seems to be a changing of the guard at LPA with a new chairman and two new non-execs. over the last year. The old management, who have retired from the business and appear to control around 25% of the company along with friends, are getting on a bit, and one wonders what will happen to their stakes. Will Gyllenhammar's investment be seen as a wakeup call for LPA's new management, or provide a safe long-term shareholder who can be counted on to help protect LPA from any unwelcome overtures?. | bottomfisher

24/6/2021 14:14 | You may be right charo. There's a great business in here waiting to emerge, but the management haven't shown many signs of realising that potential. The recent contracts should be more than enough to underpin the valuation though. I've held here for ages and obviously its not been so much fun. | tictac

17/6/2021 14:35 | Or in other words, jam tomorrow. Record order book but sales actually fell, just how far ahead does their order book look? Must be somewhat more than 12months. Been on my watchlist but I don’t see any compelling reason to buy just now just the time to invest in my opinion. I have bought more and will continue tiger | castleford tiger
