With a forward P?E of less than 9 and a yield of over 4% and good prospects, particularly for the parts division, it is hardly expensive even after the re-rating. It was also over 70p last June. I am happy to continue to hold for the long term.

Any ideas on the reason for todays rise beyond the usual ongoing bid spec? volume has been high for yesterday as well as today, I cannot see any brokers upgrades is there an press article somewhere?

I have both too. That is this month's pay sorted! I have had a few of these for a few months. I would be happy to keep them for the long term unless they get to silly money.

7 MILLION sold today so someone bought them and they can be back in play 29th December so could be a New Year deal.

3800....according to advfn financials (not always the most reliable source) the ex div date was 2 Nov and yesterday was the payment date. i am a recent investor so doesn't affect me.

Lookers share price is responding to weak consumer demand in the uk. It remains a wellrun business with strong asset backing, cash generative and pays a good dividend. Someone (Inchcape?) may take a longer term view on the value of Lookers.

Trefick had wanted to do a deal - but the muted price was rejected. They have about 16% and Tony Bramall has about 24%. Trefick may try again and may trigger other interest. We'll see.
