The tangible asset value test has been known for some time. Why the big surprise?

There was no new news today about the covenance test. Only new news was that operations are good

grim here.
a market cap below the cash raised at last rights issue almost 2 years ago.
we are struggling for survival again it seems.
trouble is they can never offload enough staff to rightsize the business.
unions too strong.

Glenkaz always buys at the bottom and sells at the top. That too despite the endless mindless ramps. Nob of the highest order.

Highly likely that the banks will be pleased with progress and relax slightly the excessive covenance

Same !! I am averaged at 70 and was long quite heavily . Feels weird as I just don't get why the market panicked . Goes to show how even after years of trading you get these events . Still believe it's a wrong interpretation of the RNS

Exactly and now momentum and stop losses triggered compound the hysteria ! Geez only a month ago we got the waiver , plus good quarter on quarter numbers and cash generation . I was expecting the very opposite today !!!! Just shows that you never know how things get interpreted .

This was a reassuring production report.
Net cash up, production up, rand price down, no fatalities.

They probable issued the report to calm investors and not to worry them about the delay announcement.
It did not work.

The Pandora JV RNS back in early October showed how banks were happy to consent to a covenant waiver . Since then and during that time cash generation has been improving and production exceeded year end targets . All this operational review delay scare is down to the year end complexity of the issue for lonmin but given the RNS of a month ago and cash generation I don't see this absurd panic at all . If something was materially wrong then Lonmin was never going to get that waiver
