No glenkaz,it's all true.Didn't you see that documentary called 'Armageddon' in 1998 with Harry Stamper (aka Bruce Willis),mining on and destroying an asteroid? Not for platinum though,it was for something far less mundane,like saving the planet! It is all at the planning stage.Big Ben Magara is in the lead role this time.Having saved the platinum industry here on Earth in his super-hero guise,his next mission is to bring home the platinum from space.To boldly go where no other miner has been before onboard the inter-galactic spaceship 'Lonmin'.The asteroid is in the Aldi or Lidl (i'm not sure) quadrant of the galaxy 'Beckham',1 million light years from Earth.The plan is to visit 'The Clangers' on their moon and get re-supplied by the Soup Dragon.(Campbell's concentrated preferably,Covent Garden Tomato and Basil otherwise).Further out in deep space (where no one can hear you scream),Ben,his team,and the cat 'Spock' intend to dock (quite painfully) with the spaceship 'Nostromo'.Some alien life form has taken up residence,but apparently he will help for nothing.No pay,no pension contributions,zip.Sounds like a good deal.After the worm-hole,a few black holes and navigating the death star (all good pubs),Ben hopefully will arrive safely and begin drilling.Roll the credits please.The End.

Gold up,plat up,palladium $800oz,talk from inside Lonmin of better production nos for Q2 (prelims and Q2 production figs due out 15/5).Zuma sacks Gordhan, his finance minister, and replaces him with a relative unknown.The rand stops appreciating and slams into reverse.Zar/USd 14+coming this year imo.The Donald helps even more by talking down the dollar.A weaker dollar can only help PM prices.The disparity between plat and gold is around $300oz,an historic high.I don't expect this differential to narrow because the platinum demand is just not there at the moment,but on an investment basis i don't expect the $300 gap to widen further.(Qualify that by saying the demand may be there,but recycling rates may be meeting this demand). Imho if pog goes higher(and i'm expecting it to this year)then platinum price will rise,hanging onto gold's coattails.Ben doing the CEO and COO (Moolman's old job) job,with some positive PR stories appearing in mining publications.We do need good production figures for Q2 to consolidate cash flow.Capex is being controlled,but cash burn on low productivity is not what shareholders were promised.Sp movement for the next month running up to 15/5,will be an indication for Lonmin's direction for the rest of 2017 i think.Let's hope a retrace higher.

Sell this dog is my opinion.Going nowhere fast except downwards as you can see from the 250 highs.106 is way overpriced
