I thought with todays drop that we had gone xd but for that we will have to wait until the 9th. Then a late RNS showing a substantial holding has been taken in the company.....makes it even harder to understand todays price movement!

some news on this today that may help the share price recover nicely;

London Scottish board under pressure

PAUL ROGERSON, City Editor February 23 2007

PRIVATE equity firm Prom- ethean is expected to begin applying pressure for a boardroom shake-out at subprime lender London Scottish Bank (LSB), after a potential take- over of the bank by competitor Cattles collapsed yesterday.

Promethean, which is fronted by Sir Peter Burt and his son Michael, wants to install the elder Burt as chairman to conduct a strategic review which would almost certainly herald the divestment of plum assets and distribution of cash to shareholders

Below 140 to cheap 116-118p now represents a buying oppotunity. Cattles have inflated their share price to try and buy us at a give away price. I think the directors are right to dig their heels in.

Plan for break-up of London Scottish Bank forges ahead

PAUL ROGERSON, City Editor February 07 2007

PROMETHEAN, the UK private equity firm headed by Sir Peter Burt and his son Michael, is poised to forge ahead with a plan to force the break-up of subprime lender London Scottish Bank (LSB).............

V.good results-profits up a quarter,10% divi hike.In the small print a property revaluation uplift of 7m taken to reserves and not included in profit.With takeover talks still in progress...I suggest 135-140 takeout price would be reasonable-Promethean's offer was 115p before this profits news...and with a 5.5% yield these look a bargain so i've just bought another 1700 shares.
Good luck all holders

killieboy, can't help you there. To start guessing why Companies alter their dates is beyond me.....I'm waiting hopefully for next week, perhaps one of the two known candidates will not be too long in showing their hand. One thing of concern is that no one seems to have been building a position, certainly not one that requires to be notified.

140p sounds good to me as a shareholder. Lets hope the results back up this sort of figure. Why have they delayed the results for 1 week - any ideas?

Finals now on the 30th Jan.
Cattles said they would wait until the results before making a move. Burt now considering another approach. So says The Sunday Telegraph.

edit:
killieboy, I can't see anyone coming in art 125p the expense of making the approach would be far too much for a nil result.
Let's start thinking in the 140p region. More realistic, providing of course the results are up to scratch.
