I think fun and games might be over for today. Some profit taking and a large seller at 7.7p are the main reasons why. Expecting a sale of the factoring division to be announced at the AGM. A disposal of the unsecured side would be a bonus but I fear they may have to pay to close down the division. That will obviously incur write downs and costs but hopefully they should be manageable.

Very much so there has been two attempts of a bid in the last two years.....so the reward of r/w is pretty good.........IMHO

The problem here is buying any volume.I had the same problem wanting to buy 25k at 48p! Managed to "only" get 8k at that price. Was "lucky" to get the balance at 38p a few days later! Take care anyone who is investing here. The AGM might have a sting attached to it.(I am not a current holder, but if I could buy say 200k at the quoted price I would, and offload tomorrow before the AGM

nick...few buyers.....lol!!! well the theory is that investors are stacking on to LSB because risk/reward return is pretty good......the ratio is whatever one makes of it.

Todays rise could be driven by short sellers closing out their positions ahead of the AGM. As most of the loose stock has been cleared they are not going to find it easy to buy stock in meaningful size without moving the price up. The fact that most of the early trading was via SETS supports this theory.

It could be that news has leaked of a potential bid but volume is pretty modest and any buyer would have picked up more volume when the opportunity arose. I would discount this for the time being.

It could simply be being driven by the overhang clearing and a few shareholders buying on that basis. With an update due this week it would be the obvious time for those wanting a punt to be getting in on the action.

Whatever it is, today's rise is obvious welcome and hopefully we can maintain it and tack on a little more tomorrow as well.

This was two year ago Cattles attempting to buy LSB

Cattles has been widely considered to be the favourite to buy LSB as it would be a good fit and it could extract significant cost savings, and a report last month said it would pay about 180 million pounds ($341.2 million) for its rival.

guys, still lurking here.
One thing you can be certain of is that you WILL get news this week.

With the AGM on Wednesday it is inconceivable that shareholders won't hear anything.I have no idea what the news will be, but it presumably will touch on true financial postiion, disposals, write downs, plan going forward ...
The later is the point on which I will make any investment decision.
Good luck all.

No one can be certain, but equally no option should be discounted at this stage.

It seems we are due to hear news this week (AGM on Wed 23rd of April).

Barclays hold share indirectly for their customers. They are not owned by Barclays.Do not think there are rampers here, just misguided posters.Might consider an investment here, but I warn you that the AGM will not be nice, and there is word of a massive dillution
