Johnspain can I just pick up your comment on the October deadline. All that changes after the deadline is that the board of LSB are obliged to put all or part of the company up for sale. For the last year though...er....the board have desperately sought a buyer for all or part of the business. In other words the situation pre-deadline & post-deadline doesn't seem a whole lot different from where we are now - and if there's no buyer now there's no buyer period.
Where this leaves the share price I don't know. I agree that this looks increasingly like dead money but am reluctant to bail out at a loss.

the deadline is by month end.
However, and I didn't realise this initially, if we pass the deadline all that happens is the company must be put up for sale.
We may get a deal (buyer) before month end, I don't know, but rumours seem to imply we will. if we don't I am certain we will get a buyer at a price significantly higher than present share price
note: I am not expecting a price in the £s, those days are gone. I wouldn't complain however :)

john,

so farrrrrrrrrrrrr down...no point in selling...in my mind it is dead money...anything else is a bonus!

We hear by month end don't we?

cyc - if you are not expecting a deal why not sell?
I have the opposite view, I think a deal is more likely with all the mergers and buy outs of banks going on.
I think lsb is undervalued and I have bought on that basis.

I don't hold out much hope for a deal in these current turbulent economic times.....especially with the debt mountain here...

MeanM, are you able to add anything to your comment of a few days ago about 'something happening'?

cheers, John.

bottom line seems to me to be that even in current (improving?) climate these are seriously undervalued.
news of a buy approach for all or part and/or closing of that repeatedly reported 5.33% short position will push the share price significantly higher in my opinion

Would it be possible to be a little more specific

Just a few if buts or maybe's will suffice

The share price seems to be telling us it's all over bar the shouting.

Auction at 2.79p.

I only hold 20000 now, average 8.88p. The cash would probably be better in premium bonds...

Well I hold 100,000 at 5p average. I wonder why it rose so sharply earlier yesterday though.

Looking none too bright here. Almost worth an 'all or nothing' punt at sub 3.5p...

Could be worse, could be in RBS. Anyone noticed it's fallen off a cliff this morning...
