very simple, if he thought the share price was going down he would have dumped. putting them into a pension shows confidence

The FSA rules on short selling say that anyone with more than 0.25% of shares
in a short position must declare to the market so in the case of LSB that means
anyone short 360,000 shares or more.
If the management can get out a bit of good news it could very well rise quickly if short positions have to be closed

think about it, if he's selling to his pension fund there is a reason.
he hasn't sold in the market has he?
this is extremely positive to my eyes.

hopefully other bidders are prepared to pay much more than him anyway?

The large transaction yesterday was Anthony Murtagh selling to his own pension fund. Looks like he won't be buying LSB then.

Hi Cyclingnut,

I have lost on this one from day one (paid 11.5p) and would have got out if I was less stubborn - still hopeful of a modest profit, if only just.

I am down on everything and my best performer is EEL, which has been suspended for the past few months..... hoping for good news there before relist, or else I am in deep doo doo!

I hope to just hold on and smile about these dark days when things pick up again, as they always do eventually.

Hi Glue - I have added more CFM and remain ever optimistic there too!

Good luck to all here - it is certainly in short supply these days.

Tom

Nah Davius.Cycling and I have been having a bit of banter on a few threads.Made a mistake with my previous post.Should have read he posts immediatly prior to my post! Had my experience with LSB initially at 48p and averaging down at 42p.....now that was an OUCH!

Harsh glue, he's been in this one a while, as have I.

Trust me nutty one, you're not alone in suffering in this market. I'm far from being a fat cat, just bouncing along (close to) the bottom wondering why the winners I pick I go into lightly and the duffers I seem to risk lots on.

I see that the shorting brigade took another huge slice out of HBOS this afternoon. I watched the share price rise to 220p+ and could pretty much call the point when it reversed. Fortunes being made and lost there, I sold out yesterday on a limit order, blind luck it got hit when I was out. Have avoided today though, too volatile and hard to trade (they keep halting on line trades).

Still hoping to see my 8.88p back here, it may take a while though.

Cycl..
I personally think we can forget about any share price from pre January. I do believe 20p+ is possible in current climate. look at lloy pating 58% premium for hbos.

happy to be proved wrong on first point though :)

john,

or slow sustained recovery which perhaps will bring much larger gains....look at the dizzy heights from which it had fallen..

They were off the order book and above bid but below offer. Can be viewed two ways, both positive. If they were sells then the MMs wanted the stock and paid over the bid. If they were buys then someone is keenly picking up stock.

Large sells below the bid would be far more worrying I'd say.

price didn't move, so either not sells or already priced in.
I wouldn't worry.
this is down to will it be bought and at what price.
