I stand by my comments in previous post. I think even in the current climate this is worth a lot more than 5p a share.

A quick trawl through this message board will let you see who is rumoured to be interested but the key word is 'rumoured'. Talks have supposedly been ongoing for the best part of a year now which says it all, there's nobody chomping at the bit to take on all or part of this lot even at today's bargain price.
Watch out on this stock though. There was a classic 'pump & dump' on this stock immediately before the company's AGM. The price was pumped up to an unbelievable 17p only to drop back immdiately the AGM started to 5p when it became apparent the board had nothing in the offing.
As for a rights issue in my opinion this is a complete non-starter. Just do the maths.
I think a fire sale is where its going to end up and that means a complete gamble as to what we might get.
At 4p I'm also thinking of having a (further) punt as that values the company at just £6m but in todays market maybe that's a punt too far? Maybe I'll just hold off a while longer.

Has anybody got any news/views/insights on this Company?

I am considering a punt at these levels with the strong possibility of corporate action/news during this month

From what I have read a regulatory shortfall of 12 million pounds needs making up by the end of this month if this can't be made up the company must put R W/LSB up for sale (the company is already in discussions obviously if they are forced to sell they need to do this sooner rather than later as the nearer we get to April 09 it will become a fire sale)

What is the easiest/best way to make up the 12 million regulatory shortfall (other than win the Euro lottery) in order to retain R.W? (This seems the best deal for shareholders)

Surely its a little late for a massively dilutive rights issue??????

The company has debts of 238 million at end of Aug 08
How much could R W /LSB be worth and who are the interested parties?

MeanM where are you?

Relatively tight spread now, 4-4.11p, now's the time for anyone wanting to take a punt I think...

(Not me though, content with my small holding and since getting out of HBOS a couple of days ago without losing my shirt I'm not planning on taking any risks this week)

a large part of the recent drop must be due to general panic in the markets and in financial stocks in particular. when the dow loses 700+ points in one session we are in uncharted territory.

My take, and it is only my musings so d.y.o.r. etc...

the US bill will get passsed in some form this week, they have no choice. This will lead to a relief rally especially in financials. we have the US election coming up too and i would be amased if that doesn't give the markets a boost.
irish banks have been underwriten by their government, again positive in current climate.

so i see the general market for financials as improving from here.
more specifically we will hear something before the end of October from lsb, I'm betting positive.
So I am expecting the general market to give us a boost, followed by lsb specific upside and on top of that we should see that 5.33% short position closing.

so, I think an interesting time coming up.
good luck all.

Thinking of having a dabble myself it it drops sub 4p.
My enthusiasm tempered by the thought this may go to the wall with little or nothing left for shareholders. Thoughts anyone?

Hugely risk grlz, but equally huge rewards if it pays off.

However, with a 3.75-4.75p quoted spread they aren't going to attract much activity for now.

Dav - I'm looking at more if I can get sub 4. Pure punt but the dark days on this have been priced at this lvl before and it's bounced, so punting this looks attractive

Not for faint hearts though - DYOR/aimho

To be fair, the buying outweighed the selling. It's all about what happens next. Who'll hold their nerve?

extreme fluctuations too on Fortis this morning

it's going to and fro between
€3,99 and €5,95

Quite possibly, but they'll not be much left for the small fry, and I think that's being reflected in the 28% fall in the share price so far this morning...

3.5-4p now.

Wonder if they'll be a bounce?
