20/8/2012 08:32 | A0...I think Exlogicalad is premier division, while sadly you are still in the 'Sunday Pub League'. If we had a league for big headed, big mouthed know alls, you would be star player. LOL TYF we do not have to bear anymore of bleeding Logica. Good riddance. | jacko07
20/8/2012 08:05 | Shares in Logica were suspended from trade on Monday as the firm embarks on the final steps of its takeover by Canadian group CGI. It was announced on July 16th that Logica's shareholders had voted 99.54% in favour of the sale, valued at £1.7bn, first announced in May. Completion of the scheme of arrangement now remains subject to the satisfaction or waiver of the remaining conditions set out in part three of the Scheme Document, including the confirmation of the capital reduction by the court. "The Court hearing to confirm the Capital Reduction is scheduled to take place today and it is expected that the Scheme will become effective thereafter," Logica said. | miata
20/8/2012 07:45 | EXLOG......Took you a while come back with that! Considering it was a "dead cert" LOG wasn't going to get a higher bid. What I can't understand is why take a hit on LOG shares when you could have just done the hedging bit and kept more of your money? As I said before...........Bar | a0502162
19/8/2012 10:41 | EXLOG...you look home and dry. It looks like the useless board will all walk with millions. Little wonder why there is no longer much faith in investing in equities. This lot have robbed shareholders of billions. Still, the company will now be history, hopefully I will never hear the name or see the ugly contorted face of that idiot Andrew Green. | jacko07
18/8/2012 14:17 | A0502162. Now what? the sale goes through on Thursday, barring anything that would prevent the sale, this is what will hppen. I will take a loss on the Logica at 105p, which will easily be offset by the profit from the premium received on the sale of the put options that will now expire well out of the money. It is called hedging, you should study it. Check LIFFE or Euronext as they quote the TO shares. | exlogicalad

06/7/2012 12:25 | There is little chance of any other bidders entering now. A lot of years of painful misery for the shareholders. Logica got rid of the hapless Martin Reed and replaced him with the hopeless Andrew Green. Green then carried on Reed's job with the same vigour he had when losing a billion for BT's IT wing. Green will be well rewarded for failure, while shareholders lose their savings. Another fat cat gets fatter, strange old world!!! | robwt
03/7/2012 12:51 | Blimey, where did you see that. I cannot believe he will leave without a big fat cheque. | robwt
03/7/2012 11:51 | Jacko07.......don't be dummy all your life, I was referring to the post above by exlogicalad.....whic ie: post 245:: Andrew has opted to leave Logica with no payment, he has decided to do the right thing and pay his money to the staff. He will also give most of the money he took in wages to charity in order to seek redemption. Could this be a rumour started by old rubber lips himself, or has it a smidge of truth. I am sure that the struggling workers and a few charities are in hope! | a0502162
03/7/2012 11:15 | Why do you say, of course he is leaving. Because Logica is so far sold. If you read the news AO, which appears you never do. Mr Green will be staying on to work for the very same board, at least until 2014. | jacko07
03/7/2012 09:20 | Of course he's leaving.....he's sold the company hasn't he? | a0502162
01/7/2012 13:38 | I have been told on good authority, that Andrew Green is well and truly a quivering wreck, a broken man who is finding it hard to function. He realised a long time ago, that the job was to big for him, a lesson to be learned by all those inept people who keep telling us they are worth the millions they pay themselves. Andrew has opted to leave Logica with no payment, he has decided to do the right thing and pay his money to the staff. He will also give most of the money he took in wages to charity in order to seek redemption. Could this be a rumour started by old rubber lips himself, or has it a smidge of truth. 07/6/2012 10:08 | ROb, I agree with what you say................b Also how long are we looking at?..............Ris | a0502162
07/6/2012 08:57 | A0...If another player came in, Green wouldn't have a choice. He is 'brown bread' in all but his title. I don't know if there is any liklihood of another bidder, but there were obviously a lot of shares bought in Feb and March, hence the move from 60p to 103p. It is all a gamble, as we all know. If you want 100% safety, put your money in the Building Society. Good luck to the lad for what looks like a good strategy. Those puts Logicalad sold were a very good price. | robwt
07/6/2012 08:38 | Well you certainly seem to have covered everything, apart from, as so many including yourself have said here, you're gambling by putting your trust in an "inept" management. Green also has a wadge of free shares awarded to him................. He doesn't need to gamble..........he can't lose.........you're right,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, | a0502162
06/6/2012 22:05 | I am not barking mad, I am quite sure of my abilities. Just so AO502162 can watch and learn, I will explain my madness. Firstly I am in profits for the year. I purchased 25,459 Logica shares at about 10.35am this morning at a cost of £27162.87 inclusive of Stamp and dealing. If GGI gets LOG at 105p and nothing were to happen I would lose a max of £430.00. However, to hedge any losses I sold to open 20 contracts of the Sept 96p puts at 4.5p which brought in £900 less £40 costs = £860.00. If the CGI deal doesn't go through, then you can accuse me of being barking mad!!! because LOG would drop back to under 96p and I would be in the brown stuff. Hey AOOOO, fools rush in!!!! | exlogicalad
06/6/2012 21:21 | AOOH50200h...Loglad is playing his hunch. at 1.6p per share over the offer price, I can't see why you say barking mad!! If he bought 10k is it a risky play to lose a couple of hundred quid worst ways, stamp and dealing included. I have forgotten about Logica, but good luck to Loglad if his info is near the mark, if he didn't play and his colleague proves correct, he will be truly annoyed. If they hit 110p like they did Friday, he is on profits. Have you never backed a hunch after a piece of info, only he knows the strength of that info. Maybe not so mad as you might think and is a common play in takeovers, you should know that if you study M&A. | jacko07

06/6/2012 15:03 | I have been in IT for 25 years and never thought I would see Logica being taken over by a smaller company. Tells you all about a once solid company brought down by bad management. An asian IT colleague of mine who is employed by a major IT firm in India with global interests, called me yesterday. What she said was very interesting and this morning I bought back into Logica at 106.06p. I am not saying there will be counter bid, but on what I have been informed it is being seriously considered by an Indian company who were already looking at it. Put it this way, it may be a gamble but . Do your own research, I am posting a link. | exlogicalad |
