Excellent article in today's Telegraph, worth taking out a subscription for

The Government is failing to be "frank" with the public about the extent of no-deal preparations because it wants to shore up support for Theresa May's "disastrous" Brexit deal, a civil servant says.

The official, who is involved in drawing up contingency plans, writes in The Telegraph that claims that Britain will "crash out" in the event of a no-deal Brexit are "absolutely untrue".

Describing the claims as "Project Fear Mark III", the civil servant says that "very detailed plans" have been made are now being executed to ensure that a cliff-edge Brexit is "simply not going to be an option".

The civil servant writes: "If the Government was to be frank with Parliament and the country, what justification would be left for its disastrous Withdrawal Agreement?

"What would Remainers do without a Project Fear? They would need to think up convincing positive arguments for staying in the EU, something that has so far proved beyond them."

Trump maybe right. Could be painful. Removing the fiction and lies will be be disruptive. Being PC too often is ducking the Reality. Truth is a difficult business. Difficult territory.

Fortune favours the Brave. Just not sure.

When the migrants get caught/intercepted by the Kent coast guards what is the normal procedure for dealing with migrants?... do they get taken to a migrants holding area for questioning/form filling?...given shelter, food, clothing or do they get deported back to where they came from within days...I assume some of these guys probably don't carry any documents deliberately to avoid going back to their home Country...

I have a lot of sympathy for the footballer actually. There wasn't another vehicle near his, nothing to make manoeuvring difficult, and yet she drove into him. And it wasn't just a tap, either, she careered into him.

And then she demanded £5k not to go to the police - so she's a blackmailer.

They're as bad as one another.

Doesn't say much for France/EU then if they are willing to risk their lives crossing the channel in dinghies to get away from their shores and come to the UK instead.

Diku, allow me to guess the answer to your question.

The migrants would leave from the closest point to the UK, ie near Calais. The Fuggin Frogs are turning a blind eye, as that is a heavily populated area and also covered by radar.

Right now, weather conditions are ideal with high pressure bringing light winds. Anyone attempting to cross at night in a dinghy/RIB would be taking a great risk owing to the heavy volume of traffic moving through the Dover Straits.

Their gear is likely bought from the traffickers.

I assume these migrants travel very light...so from where does the boat journey begin and who supplies them with the boat gear?...

Anyone care to consider what the reaction would be in Brussels and Paris if those migrants were leaving the UK and heading for France?

Yes..I watched the youtube clip. Disgusting lowlife, but this sort of thing is the norm these days. It looks as if there was more to it than a bump in the car, however the footballer acted like an animal and deserves to be locked up.

As for the student nurse, if she has any sense she will choose where she goes and who she befriends. Hopefully Minerve will show it to his daughter to make sure she is careful in Italy.

Yes from the media...there must be a perception out there that UK is a soft touch welcoming Country for migrants... with all the benefits that will follow...

The Home Secretary today declared a "major incident" as two more boats containing desperate migrant families were intercepted in the English Channel.

It comes after campaigners warned it was only a matter of time before people die in a mass tragedy in the chill, choppy waters between Dover and Calais.

Two inflatable boats carrying 12 men from Syria and Iran were intercepted this morning - adding to 82 migrants detained at the crossing since Christmas Day.
