Costs up a bit of a shocker. Branch closures and redundancies would all be one off and not hit the income statement. Nothing else particularly unexpected and guidance reiterated.

Abyss get back in your Black Hole Qantas never Crashed
Over its 97-year history Qantas has amassed an amazing record of firsts in safety and operations and is widely regarded as the world's safest airline since it hasn't suffered any fatal or hull-loss accidents in the modern jet era.5 Feb 2024

Well, I was certainly wrong in the short term, but as said that's always a tricky one. I'll be more interested in what happens over the next few days. HSBC might provide a nice banking pop next Tuesday.....

Generally, interest rates have normalised after 15 years at almost zero. This is good for banks, regardless of any other noise....

Soon see Peart and fingers crossed that you are right, but I agree with you that the figures are what the market is expecting.

Lloyds backs guidance for 2024, who knows what will happen to the stock in the short term, but a lot of the figures reported will have been expected by the market, and there's no particular mention of more car financing provisions, plus NIM decline is less than expected. It wouldn't surprise me if the stock was up this am.

Net interest income down 10% reflecting lower NIMM and return of equity down too for the quarter. Reflecting a difficult Q1.

Looks like pants to me! no doubt pooeypants will graph the decline in share price later in the day and remind us of our stupidity investing in Lloyds. At least it's an opportunity to reduce the share count.

Don't know if anybody watched the news this evening... headlines on the migrant crossing...BBC reporter was on the French Coast recording events unfold...my question is how does such a big dinghy get on the coast without nobody noticing it...does it just drops out of the sky?...
