another good text to read and the Dunlin Regulations do not apply to the uk because of wonderful BREXIT ( wry smile ) - please note !

The Dublin Regulations is a system which allows one EU country to require another to accept responsibility for a person who has claimed asylum when specific conditions apply, including that the person is shown to have previously made a claim of asylum in another EU country. The intention is that asylum claims are then shared more evenly between EU countries.

The Dublin system only operates within the EU and it will almost certainly cease to apply to the UK following Brexit.

hardup1,
actually you are WRONG about this but it is often trotted out by the tories and the right wing media . You arr FACTUALLY wrong and see text below . So they are NOT illegal immigrants whether Albanian or whoever until their asylum claims have been assessed in UK and rejected . If they continue to remain here AFTER claims rejected , they then become illegal immigrants . So you get your information from wrong source such as mail , express , sun etc who spout lies quite a lot .

Do people have to claim asylum in the first safe country they reach? No. The 1951 Refugee Convention does not require a person to claim asylum in the first safe country they reach. People trying to cross the Channel can legitimately claim asylum in the UK if they reach it.

arja,
You are missing my point. Even those that are not Albanian have travelled through several countries in Europe or beyond before they get to the English Channel. If they are legitimately seeking asylum they should do this in the first safe country they arrive in after leaving their country of origin. Failure to do this means they cannot be classified as legitimate asylum seekers, so are entering the UK illegally.

russian trolls,
does Poland have the right to invade and occupy part of Belarus by your logic ?? you will say NO but also that Russia has the right to invade Ukraine as some ethnic Russians live there . ( wry smile )>

hardup1,
you failed to understand my point even though you are probably right about the Albanians . so re-read what I said missing out my reference to Albians and you will see that there is no such thing as an ILLEGAL asylum seeker prior to their claims being assessed in UK . my follow up email adss a bit more to my case being there are NO LEGAL ROUTES for many asylum seekers - so they come by boats in desperation !

Yes Paul, but WWII Airfix soldiers, no matter how skilfully painted, are not a reliable source of “military intelligence”.

But kudos for getting them them to talk.

I've been told through military sources which I can't obviously mention but many of these illegals are trained military and have signed an officials secret act. This is why we need to start asking why are they here and getting real. Answers

arja...."you only become ILLEGAL when your asylum application is rejected such as might happen to some of the Albanian asylum seekers ".........They are illegal...100% of them that arrive in the UK are not arriving with required VISA or Permits. And if they are seeking asylum, why not apply for asylum in the first safe country that they enter after leaving their country of origin? 100% of them all travel through several safe countries before they get to the English channel, any of which they can apply for asylum in, so they cannot claim to be asylum seekers. They are economic migrants, and a large proportion of them will be involved in organised crime gangs after they have arrived and vanished into thin air.

"See the news last night the frogs are laying on free buses from Dunkirk to the beaches for the dinghy people"

Makes me wonder why we bothered storming Dunkirk with the Americans to save the French frankly.
