29/6/2021 10:19 | Weve only discussed it briefly but family reunion fees has never been mentioned. Dont suppose it matters cos probably not going to happen but hoping to visit asap | scruff1
29/6/2021 10:14 | What is this family reunion stuff? Fee's, what for? | maxk
29/6/2021 10:00 | scruff1, I have lived in OZ and may return later this year and you will find that the Health system is far better than in Uk and especially nowadays in covid times . But the family reunion visa fees are astronomically high and would cost you or your son heaps - they are like mafia thieves ! ( smile ) . I think one pom I met in central coast sid he had to pay over $20,000 to join his son and family in OZ - greedy sods ! There is a national health system there though and you get a medicare card . Dental fees are very high of course and not covered under medicare . | arja
29/6/2021 09:51 | mr Elbee , Not sure about a full blown dictatorship yet but clowns like Johnson and Trump wou;d prefer that and even quite a lot brextremists I suspect . | arja

29/6/2021 09:42 | Pierre Ive often thought about buying somewhere abroad. Nearly bought a place in Cyprus but the guy kept being evasive so told him to stuff it, then Id agreed a price on a place in Portugal and they decided to up the price - not playing that game so told them to stuff it In spain I wondered but they were telling me how as the mayor changed so did the rules - again not for me that malarky. As I get older I now wonder about health care so it looks like staying home is favourite. Would probably go and live with the lad in Oz but obviously on hold at mo and also worry about very high health care and cost of living as now on fairly fixed income. Being tied to Spain or anywhere else also doesnt appeal to me these days and as the pandemic fades there are more interesting places than Brit nob infested EU destinations | scruff1
29/6/2021 09:40 | Pierre , You talk about "elite" but worship JRM and the Tory toffs . They are not elitist of course and have much empathy for those less fortunate than themselves ! | arja
29/6/2021 09:38 | you DO NOT get impartial regulators in a full blown dictatorship which is what the UK is now experiencing | mr.elbee
29/6/2021 09:24 | Xxxxxxxy, I don't think it will be much longer before Spain tires of the EU elite telling them whether or not they may welcome British tourists. Maybe they'll see benefits in ruling their own country as they see fit too. Ditto Greece.I'm sure we all know people who own a flat on the Costas, I found the whole place depressing when I visited a couple of years ago. The Brits were stuck there then unable to sell with tens of thousands of partially built flats. Must be worse now, got to get out for 6 months since most come back to the UK for medical treatment, so can't take spango residency. The dream of the Costas is now a nightmare for most Brits, and for the Spanish who rely on them (which is all of them to a degree). | pierre oreilly

29/6/2021 07:43 | Karma - Swiss seeing off Macrons crew. (not having a good week the little tit) The EU has been giving the Swiss a hard time recently. Our turn tonight against Merkels mob. Taking the knee or not -COME ON ENGLAND stuff em. | scruff1
29/6/2021 07:19 | arja Agreed. Scandalous how Johnson keep ignoring/over riding regulators. I was a bit uneasy but being a leaver was willing to put up with him over riding parliament. Thats why we need impartial regulators and why they should be and be seen to be impartial (and why its worrying that the judiciary is increasingly seen not to be). Johnson seems to think that as PM he can do what he wants and ignore whatever he wants He needs to go hes a shocker and mo is doing a lot of damage to democracy in the UK. | scruff1 |
