Freedom cancelled - The facts, the fear, and the furyTwo Covid snapshots which should worry us all?© Facts4EU.Org 2021Facts4EU.Org presents two examples of why we should be worried about the Covid CommissarsYesterday evening the long-awaited return of our civil liberties and personal freedoms was cancelled once again by the Prime Minister. No restoration of anything remotely resembling normal life in a western democracy is anywhere on the horizon – unless you believe the latest 'date carrot' being dangled in front of us, which is now 19 July 2021.The Covid crisis has started cutting us in two – those who are fearful, and those who are furious. In a further effort to inform the public, Facts4EU.Org is presenting two sets of facts.1. The obvious question – how many are now dying "with Covid"?Our first set of facts answers a very basic question. Forget "cases", (which are not cases at all, merely positive tests for infection by the Covid-19 virus), what is our danger of dying?Below is a chart showing the number of daily deaths in the last month ostensibly related to Covid. As we have pointed out before, these are not deaths "due to Covid". They are counted if the deceased had either tested positive for Covid in the preceding 28 days or if he or she had not tested positive but a doctor suspected they might have the Coronavirus. The latest data from the ONS says that around 40% of these deaths are not "due to Covid". Nevertheless we have shown the official numbers.BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUMMARYDaily deaths "with Covid" in last monthAverage daily deaths 'with Covid' in last month : 8Average daily deaths from all causes in 2019 : 1,360[Source: Johns Hopkins University / Our World in Data - from official UK statistics]?© Brexit Facts4EU.Org - click to enlarge2. You're a woman diagnosed with suspected breast cancer – how long before you can see a specialist? At first sight this question might appear to have nothing to do with Covid, but please bear with us.One of the NHS's standards which is measured monthly relates to a major killer – breast cancer. The NHS has to report on the number of women waiting longer than the minimum standard, which is two weeks between a GP's urgent referral to the first consultant appointment. The latest numbers are for England only for the month of April and are shown below. We have compared April this year with April in 2019 – before Covid.BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUMMARYExceeding NHS standard for wait from GP urgent breast cancer referral to first consultant appointmentApril 2019 : 20,415April 2021 : 30,493 (+49.4%)[Source: Latest data from NHS England, accessed 15 June 2021]?© Brexit Facts4EU.Org - click to enlargeOBSERVATIONSThis is all about keeping things in proportion - or it should beThe apparent obsession of the Government, the NHS, and the media about Covid, to the virtual exclusion of all else, has been extraordinary. The hundreds of billions of pounds of debt which has already been incurred, to be paid off by our children and grandchildren, is unprecedented in peacetime. In our report above we contrasted 'Covid deaths' with one metric, chosen at random. Breast cancer is a very serious issue, as are other cancers and other major killers including dementia and heart disease. (Deaths related to Covid are now so low that they do not even appear in the top 30 causes of death.)In April 2021 the NHS is showing over 209,000 women with suspected breast cancer who have been referred urgently to a consultant by their GP. The number of people with suspected cancers of all types far outnumbers the people requiring hospital treatment for the Coronavirus. It is a fact that early diagnosis and treatment of cancer is a major factor in the prognoses for hundreds of thousands of people each year. If so much of the focus of government and the NHS is on Covid, and if people have not even been able to get appointments with their GP, let alone be referred and treated in a timely fashion, then sadly we can expect many, many thousands to die before their time.Yesterday Boris Johnson and his two cohorts did not mention actual deaths "due to Covid", and nor did they mention the serious consequences of the Covid obsession for the number of unnecessary deaths from other conditions.Aside from all of this, the Prime Minister also did not discuss the serious fact that his announcement continues the existence of government-imposed totalitarian measures for our society as a whole, and the impact of these on personal freedoms, civil liberties, jobs, businesses, mental health, our children's education and well-being, our elderly people, and our quality of life in general. With the BBC, Sky News and ITV failing to present anything approaching a proper scrutiny of the facts, we felt that occasional reports such as the one we have produced above might redress the balance a little.

Better than nothing..if you started with nothing?

The UK’s new trade deal with Australia will bring “fantastic opportunities” for Britain, Boris Johnson has said.
The prime minister hailed the agreement, which the government expects to grow the economy by just 0.02 per cent over 15 years, as a “new dawn” for Britain.

British farmers have warned that imported Australian food produced at industrial scales and to different standards will drive them out of business.

On Tuesday morning Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove responded to farmers’ concerns about the deal.
"It is the case that there are some practices in Australia that we wouldn't allow here but it's also the case that we have restrictions on some of the products that can be brought in because of our particular public health requirements,” he said.

After a pact was confirmed, Mark Melatos, an economist at the University of Sydney, warned that the UK could have “negotiating difficulties” with other countries as a result of its concessions to Australia.

Right Alphorn!!!!!!

First of many one expects.

No thanks to the fifth column working against the demcoratic vote result, the implementation of said democratic vote, and then the efforts to secure non EU trade deals.

Treason of the highest order imv.

I worry that if the Tories- the party that should promote individual freedoms and personal responsibility are so relaxed about curbing those freedoms, the labour party would be positively excited about the prospect. This could be how it's going to be from now on. People shouldn't be so flippant about it. Freedom is very difficult to regain once it's been given away. They have already recruited 10,000 covid police. I am certainly beginning to taste what life must have been like behind the iron curtain.

scruffi,
you must be joking. She is s typical right wing Tory lacking even a modicum of compassion or empathy making disingenuous comments about concern for immigrants
losing their lives in channel trying to reach England. Such a noble motive whereas in fact she and most Tories could not give a dam about the loss of life and probably welcome it as it reduces bet immigration figures . She continues TM's policy and she is nasty piece of work and a PRETEND remainer . Even the very smart James O'Brien said that TM was a remainer and yet her sole reason for living was to end FOM !
