Disagree Scruff.
If you're a spongin parasite portrayign yourself as a refugee when you clearly aren't,and you get away with it, showered with more money than you've ever had, wouldn't you post to social media to your mates encouraging them to also make the same journey?

Would the same info flow and resultant English Channel crossing have occurred in such numbers in 80s/90s absent this social media revolution??

I'd wager not.

Only reason people try their arm is because they know others have got away with it!

Another shooting in USA I see.
What Arja doesnt mention in his drivel about Policemen shooting blacks is:

1) More White people get shot by Policeman every year than Black men.
See FBI Crime Stats - indisputable FACT.

2) More Black men kill other Blackmen each year than are killed by White men.
Again, indisputable fact.

3) When Policeman do shoot black men it is usually because they are overly aggressive, mouthy mofos who are COMMITTING A CRIME.

Case in point:"Minnesota unrest"

"The second night of protests followed Thursday’s fatal shooting of 32-year-old Winston Boogie Smith Jr., who was wanted on a weapons violation and fired a gun before two deputies shot him.

Those few Blacks who get shot by Policemen usually(but not exclusively) deserve it.

If you get into a dialogue with a copper, perhaps because they have pulled you over, be polite, keep your hands in sight all the time and do as you are told.

It isn't difficult.

But clearly is for mouth black people who think they are above the law.

We should put Australia at the top of our trade list, say Britons

With the countries on the verge of agreeing a post-Brexit free trade deal, a new poll finds the UK public bullish about a deal Down Under

Australia is the top country with which Britons believe the UK should be trading more, according to a new poll.

A survey found that 65 per cent of respondents supported a free-trade deal with Australia. The country also topped a list of nations with which people believe the UK should increase trade, including the US, New Zealand, China and Japan.

Britain is on the verge of signing a trade deal with Australia, following negotiations led by Liz Truss, the international trade secretary.

The negotiations sparked a split in the Cabinet over the potential impact of a zero-tariff, zero-quota deal on Australian meat imports on British farmers.

However a briefing paper by the Adam Smith Institute, the free market think tank, says that Britons "believe that British farmers can and should compete globally ... and do not consider protecting farmers to be a reason worth blocking the deal."

A C|T Group survey of 1,500 British adults and 1,500 Australians, for the Adam Smith Institute, found that 66 per cent of respondents favoured more trade with Australia, compared to 48 per cent advocating more trade with the US, and 42 per cent with Japan.

Some 70 per cent of respondents agreed with the statement that “Free trade is generally a good thing, and benefits all sides."

“Both Brexit and the pandemic has hammered home that the EU treats the UK with utter contempt - so it’s no wonder British punters are telling them to stuff their produce up their juntas.

Credit Suisse continues to have a positive view on the UK domestic banks, with Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON:LBG) as its top pick. The improved UK economic outlook and the prospect of rising interest rates are positive for the sector while valuations are cheap on a historical basis and in comparison to international members of the STOXX Banks Price Index.UK rates expectations were fairly unchanged over May after an improvement in April, but remain meaningfully improved over the year, which Credit Suisse (CS) thinks is not reflected in consensus estimates. Short term rate developments so far in the second quarter support its call to prefer UK domestic over UK international names, the bank said."BOE [Bank of England] data released for April show new business mortgage margins came down further and are now 11bp [basis points – 100 basis points equals one percentage point] above the stock (vs 20bp in March); however, 2Y [two-year] fixed-rate mortgages (which re-price faster) are more meaningfully above the stock. Our price tracker shows that over May application margins came down by a further 7bp we think (mainly driven by pricing 5bp). April mortgage volumes fell back from exceptionally high March levels though approvals continue to be solid," CS said.Lloyds, of course, is king of the mortgage world in the UK and is CS's preferred stock in the sector...... proactive investors.co.uk

(a) what have events in the USA got to do with us?
(b) even in the USA this movement is a load of nonsense. There are more white deaths at the hands of the police than black. The simple fact is, in a society where the police are armed and the criminals are armed, there are going to be casualties.

Black live matter - 'take the knee'.

Isn't the whole thing a silly straw man? Does anyone in this day and age think black lives don't matter? We no longer have a slave trade, when such a slogan had validity, but today?

Southgate will go the same way as the nat trust boss who insisted all volunteers wore some sort of woke badge, even if they objected. I assume not all the england footballers are woke freaks, so some may be ordered to 'take the knee' (how i hate that phrase) when they don't want to. Southgate - keep politics out of sport else you'll soon be out of sport.
