22/12/2020 18:17 | Heseltine - absolute EU for ever - for all his money he has not succeeded in speaking without that speech impediment. £90k a year not to do - what a wonderful world - Major - son with heart complaint after relationship with escort girl - bliar - the most treacherous went with bushman and devastated Iraq - never ever told the truth - btw Cherie was always asking - is it in yet? | jl5006
22/12/2020 17:55 | k38: "New tricks from remainers making people to think we are close to a deal and if turn to be no deal will disappoint the people..." Predicted weeks ago that remainers would try and bounce us into a rubbish 'remain' deal. Lefty guardian and FT headlines in recent weeks have been talking up prospects of a deal contrary to statements from no.10 about big differences in positions of 2 sides. | cheshire pete

22/12/2020 17:52 | John Weighell22 Dec 2020 3:56PMEvery EU outburst like this stiffens my resolve. For me, the sooner this is finished, and we are out on WTO rules the better. After all this EU claptrap about fishing rights a hard deal Gibraltar- Irish Borders etc. I decided the answer is in my wallet and have made the EU a supplier of last resort. I now buy British fruit veg cauliflower and broccoli not Spanish veg, our meat and dairy products are beyond question, British cheese is second to none. Antipodean wine is good and consistent. There are lots of good quality price competitive non-EU vehicles. As for machine tools and equipment non-EU kit may cost a small percentage more but I find British, USA and Japanese suppliers return significantly better quality. Many I know have made similar judgments and I'm sure it will be a long time if ever before we reverse our behaviour. | xxxxxy

22/12/2020 17:49 | French....Phillip Bailey22 Dec 2020 5:22PMIf its empty wagons going back for fresh fruit and salads seems to me its them out of pocket and not us.1LikeReplyDavid Birchall22 Dec 2020 5:16PMThis has been a really valuable lesson for us. As a nation, all of our efforts must be on making us as a nation as self sufficient as possible, trading on fair terms wherever in the world we can find partners. In disclosing the new strain we have done exactly the right thing, acting in a way which is an example to the WHO and China. We deserve unqualified praise and support for sharing this information. Of course, France and the rest of the EU sees nothing but its own reflection, and its reaction to any pinch point is to mete out punishment beatings. Over the last month, we have seen the true nature of the EU beast, We are an island nation, a people set apart, and the same instincts of honesty and fair dealing that have always characterised us as a nation will get us through the other side of this. ... 22/12/2020 17:46 | Our relationship with the EU will be a constantly shifting landscape JL5. Offering grant's to fishermen to to invest in infrastructure before a deals negotiated would be unnecessarily provocative. Whilst we need to be sympathetic to the french fishing & processing industry they need to recognise that we sacrificed Hull, Grimsby, Aberdeen and the future of the UK fishing & many other industries so the likes of Merv and all the other remainer xxxx's could prosper while traditional industries were sacrificed. | utrickytrees
22/12/2020 17:40 | Of course Stoned But given the leaving - Govt could have tried to kick start the Business of farming - Thank you EEC and ur farming madness just to protect ur WOS ? have a cow and a few sheep - and get paid. CAP caps it all - and Major and Bliar thought it was so great - what sheepshaggers they were! | jl5006
22/12/2020 17:25 | And tricky Given that a FTA was never really on the table why was there no Govt initiative to get the ball rolling - grants towards fishing vessels. Just the same with farmers. Do I really want Spanish cauli at Xmas - that is what tesco are selling. Why were cornish farmers not encouraged to plant for Xmas and broccoli after Xmas. I do believe the lot in HOC are not the brightest - but the Select Coms seem to be intent on damage rather than creativity - easy to be negative -ban and fine - to think and creatie much harder | jl5006
22/12/2020 17:22 | Righto JL5, the EU demands really highlight the extent to which the UK has bent to the will of the EU to make the project a success in the past. The pro Europeans have now been exposed as fkin barking mad & the direction of travel is firmly with the UK as a sovereign nation. We have taken the initiative and Boris has the backing of the nation to go on and gain the whip hand. By taking the initiative the longer term effects of our brevity will I'm sure be felt for many yrs to come. | utrickytrees
22/12/2020 17:10 | Yesterday was 730 lorries today 3000 if true. If they can't travel why are being send to Dover wasting time and money, unless their owners are remainers businessmen..... A real businessman would not send his lorries waiting for days in Dover. | k38
22/12/2020 17:09 | Tricky agree But a post earlier suggested that the EU wanted whatever tied into an agreement with compensation clauses. A simple agreement with agreed reduction would be sensible. But where do u find sense when negotiating with EU? | jl5006
22/12/2020 17:07 | What do you think of the EU vaccine buying program? I'm sure some remoaniac sages on here thought UK had made a big mistake not joining in with EU to source the vaccines. | tygarreg
22/12/2020 17:02 | Just heard in the news around 3000 lorries stuck in and around Dover... | diku
22/12/2020 17:01 | JL5, on fish the UK doesnt have the fleet or the processing infrastructure to benefit from banning EU vessels from UK waters, it's a pointless demand what's the point? Far better to have the EU withdraw in an orderly fashion. It's not rocket science by reducing the Eu quotas by 10% per year, over 6yrs it could be reduced to naught. An immediate embargo would be exactly the same as allowing crops to rot in the fields & acutely embarrassing. | utrickytrees
22/12/2020 16:56 | Doesnt matter Poikka The mini man from France has to try to make others think he is a big man- De Gaulle style. All vertically challenged try the same - remember that unless sitting down they have to look up to ppl. They dont like that. A wimp of a man - and a pathetic decision. Lets get out of there without further ado. It is just a cesspit of policy and thought. | jl5006
22/12/2020 16:55 | That shows how many idiots are around... useless lifes made to serve. | k38
22/12/2020 16:52 | stonedyou New tricks from remainers making people to think we are close to a deal and if turn to be no deal will disappoint the people.... by doing so they trying to put pressure on Boris to agree with Brussels so will not lose the next election. Kids games. | k38 |
