John Redwood@johnredwood2hThe government experts give us bad news on CV 19 deaths every day but not deaths from flu and pneumonia which are down. How did they work out more days of lockdown if we meet families at Christmas? Why is R still a range and not a firm figure based on all these tests?

Since when was BREXIT a trade deal ?
The electorate voted to leave the EU, free from interference from the B/Bandits Club and at no time has another country the right to demand free access to harvest another Sovereign nations wealth.... (its how the parasites take back control year by year talks with extensions)

Tories better deliver and walk away from these EU vipers who take their orders from globalist establishment OR goodbye tory councils, tory traitors.

I look forward to reading the trade deal part, where British companies can freely harvest EU forests, EU arable farms, EU minerals/mines etc.
Johnson you have a second chance after Treason May....its the end of Tories if you cant show back bone....you aint that smart at playing ppl.

Farage gets my vote.

For gods sake guys, politics is like bakeoff, your only as good as your last cook. Boris can screw up for the first 3 years it doesn't matter. All he has to do is come good in the fourth... His campaign got a massive seat majority, the tories are not gonna screw with that unless they really have to. Boris will see both covid and brexit out. Plus right now everything could be a poison chalis. I expect neither will be the disaster everyone predicts... it rarely is. Judging covid will be based on deaths above average morbidity rates, not if you died of it if your dog contracted it in the last 28 days despite the fact you got run over by the no. 19 bus. Covid is a pandemic, in other times there would have been many more deaths... but its not like sending 100k guys over the top in the first world war in a month. We are getting bogged down by BS. Its a bad number if 500 people per 100K have got it at any one time. That's 1 in 200 people, its an over reaction. The policies are not wrong, people partying, socialising and going to see granny with the family is. People have brought a lot of this on themselves.

"I believe his self-isolation ends next Thursday.."What about if he is using self-isolation for secret talks with Brussels.... now, that won't be good for us if that's the case.

maxk,

Supposing Boris the bungling buffoon plans to make some significant last minute concessions. He's going to want to hide the bad news behind some good news, wouldn't you think?

I believe his self-isolation ends next Thursday. So he sets up a news conference for the tail end of next week and announces five days of relative freedom over Christmas. The tabloids go crazy, so does the population generally. The following day nobody can talk about anything else. That following day, he strikes, announcing the conclusion of an excellent agreement with Brussels. We have won, he declares. Only a few people bother to note the small print.

I suggest you keep a close eye on developments next week.

Boris wants a Canada style free trade deal. That is not the same as no deal and probably worth having for both parties.

But neither Canada, Japan or South Korea would have signed FTAs with the EU had the EU demanded that they follow EU rules and grant massive access to their fishing grounds. In fact, they would have been laughed out of the room.

Taking a step back, it shows how both sides lack vision and belief in their own values. The negotiations have consistently had desperation written all over of them.

SE Asia has just created the biggest trade bloc in history with daylight second and it has no political union and no single currency. Already, it is the fastest growing region by far and has dealt with the pandemic better than everywhere else.

More than ever, the UK needs to pivot towards Asia and get away from an inward looking, nostalgic, ultra low growth, protectionist, and pessimistic region called Europe.

If Boris rolls over he and the Tories will carry on rolling.......straight over the cliff edge at the next election. They won’t be forgiven
