A dithering, half way, mixed message approach will cause more long term damage than a short full lockdown.

Look at China, NZ. China claims to have a dozen new infections in a city and they lockdown and re-test the entire population.
NZ close all borders.

A few infections and they take decisive action. In UK, it's dithering, the govn 'asks' people to do this or that, depending on whether you it's necessary to go out. It gives people excuses.

Complete mess and it's costing lives and jobs.

The same goes for Brexit, too much dithering is costing jobs now and in the future .. Brexit means brexit... The UK owns UK waters and everything in those waters. If

John Redwood@johnredwood2hCircuit breakers stop the flow, but you get full power back as soon as you cancel them. Not a good model for controlling the virus. We need to work away at better treatments and better infection control whilst allowing people to work.

Lockdowns. What a waste of everybody's time and money. It appears that we are going to have to live with this virus for some time. The sooner the government starts to address the future and uses wisely whats left of our cash the sooner they will be worthy of the title 'conservative'. At the moment they are behaving as characters from Cervantes' imagination. Shocking standard of leadership. Depressing
