"Watch football in your own homes" says government.

You couldn't make it up.

Complete and utter farce and out of touch with reality.

Sorry Sikh
The c19 situ is massively overhyped.
Why buy more single use plastic stuff that was the centre of a massive media campaign not so long ago. Campaign against.
Whatever happened to the concept of cloth and sterilisation?

Given the current Covid19 and economic situation, it's stupidity to spend £900k on repainting the RAF Voyager.

How would a plane painted in Union Jack colours better represent the UK - it's a plane sitting on a runway!!.

Money better spent on PPE...

Maybe the PM should wear Union Jack T-shirt and Hat to better represent the UK!!!

How do you figure 1/3 of matches are free?

What the hell is PICK for goodness sake?

Free-to-air helps if it is a known channel.

ACME channel doesn't quite cut the mustard.

ALL SHOULD BE FREE TO AIR IMO!

Minerve, 8 of the Sky matches are also to be shown on Pick, which is free. The first is Norwich v Southampton on Friday.

1/3 of the matches free one way or another should keep all the "old folk" happy.

UK kick-starts trade negotiations with Australia and New Zealand as Australian High Commissioner labels trade deal with London as 'top priority' and is confident it can be agreed 'fairly soon'. Meanwhile, life saving coronavirus treatment is branded a 'British success story' and Winston Churchill's statue is set free for Macron visit.Government kick-starts trade negotiations with Australia and New Zealand: It's full stream ahead for the government's Global Britain plans today, as it published its negotiating objectives for free trade agreements with both Australia and New Zealand, with talks to begin shortly. Australia and New Zealand will be important markets for a truly Global Britain, with government analysis today showing that the value of UK exports to the two countries could increase by around £1 billion as a result of free trade agreements that will see trade barriers removed. The UK's services and investment, digital services and automotive industries are all set to benefit the most. The commencing of trade talks with these countries will signal the first steps towards UK membership of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), which accounted for 13% of the world's GDP in 2018. Liz Truss noted our shared history, language and common law and the importance of boosting trade with those who share our values. "Pivoting towards the Asia-Pacific will diversify our trade, increase the resilience of our supply chains and ensure the UK is less vulnerable to political and economic shocks in certain parts of the world," she said. FTA with UK a 'top priority' and will be agreed 'fairly soon' says High Commissioner: Australia's High Commissioner George Brandis told Sky News that a free trade agreement with London is a "top priority" for Canberra and signalled it could be agreed "fairly soon". One top diplomat also noted the importance of the partnership in standing up for the shared values of democracy and rule of law in the face of challenges from rising powers like China."At a time when there are tensions in the world that are growing more acute - and which have been dramatised and thrown in very stark relief by the COVID crisis - the benefit, the importance to each other of like-minded, free-trading liberal democracies like Britain and Australia has never been greater," the High Commissioner told Sky News. "In so many different ways - whether it is strategic cooperation, diplomatic cooperation, intelligence sharing, and in trade - countries like Britain and Australia find that we are more bound together," he said, noting that our interests and values have never been so closely aligned. When asked about the UK's exit from the European Union, the High Commissioner said, "I simply make this point: The voices of pessimism in discussions about global trade are always in the end thwarted by the reality because merchants, traders, entrepreneurs, companies, always gravitate to the most profitable markets."Australia has been in talks with the EU for over two years now with the two sides yet to finalise a deal. Mr Brandis predicted that the UK-Australia agreement would be completed faster than the one with Brussels, going on to say that "Australia will be a voice around the table supporting Britain's aspiration to accede to that plurilateral trade agreement as well."In an interview with talkRADIO this morning, Mr Brandis noted Australia's ambition for a speedy trade deal. "Ministers have said they expect this will be a matter of months, not years" he said. He also suggested any FTA could make it easier for young people to live and work in each other's countries but that he didn't want to get ahead of negotiations.Boris announces merger of departments to put UK security first: As Britain aligns its foreign aid policy more closely with that of Australia, Canada and New Zealand, the government announced the merger of the Department for International Development and The Foreign Office to create one 'super-department'': the new Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. The department is expected to be up and running by September and will allow the government to make sure that overseas aid is given out in the best interests of the UK. "For too long frankly UK overseas aid has been treated as some giant cashpoint in the sky that arrives without any reference to UK interest," Boris said in the Commons yesterday.Coronavirus treatment is a 'world beating' British success story: Dexamethasone, the life-saving steroid that has shown to cut coronavirus deaths by one third, is being described as a 'world beating' British success story. The government stockpiling of corona treatments has certainly paid off with one source saying "If we had waited until [yesterday] before buying anything, we certainly wouldn't have 200,000 full patient courses ready to go to patients who need it." The drug is  proven to be safe and is now also proven to effectively treat Covid-19. Britain led the world in coronavirus drugs trials and this is the most significant step to date. 20 Indian soldiers killed on border with China: Tensions on China and India's shared border erupted yesterday with the number of Indian troops dead rising to 20 after they were killed in hand-to-hand combat. China has not yet confirmed the number of casualties they suffered, but India claim that number is around 40. India has hit out at Beijing accusing them of attempting to "unilaterally change the status quo" on the border.Churchill to be uncovered as Macron visits: Sir Winston Churchill's statue is set to be freed from its box in time for President Macron's visit on Thursday to award London the Legion d'Honneur in tribute to the capital city's courage and support during World War Two. Former Conservative leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith, welcomed the move: "About time. It is madness. It shouldn't have been covered in the first place. It is time to get back our self respect."Boris' Brexit plane dreams to become a reality: A military plane used by the Prime Minister and members of the royal family is getting a Brexit themed makeover, losing its grey exterior in favour of the colours of the Union flag. Boris had previously questioned why the plane was grey and said he wanted to have a "Brexit plane" from which to travel the world and promote Global Britain. On our site today: Today's first article comes from the journalist and Editor of Free Market Conservatives, Tim Dawson. His article argues that any kind of extension to the transition period was never an option and that there are cold, hard cash advantages of getting this process over with. You can read the full article here.Today's second article comes from Professor U. Srinivasa Rangan who is Luksic Chair of Strategy And Global Studies at Babson College. His article provides a rebuttal to a previous article on modernising trade rules, arguing that trade preferences that are driven by rules on method of production (ROMP), is likely to reduce international trade rather than increase it. Ray Bradbury17 Jun 2020 3:44PMCovid-19 is endemic I think we can say that. It will not go away and being an RNA virus it will mutate too quickly for a vaccine. It will stay with us in a milder form as a common cold. Like Moscow flu did 3LikeReplyChristine Lowe17 Jun 2020 5:01PMLet's hope so Ray. Does this process take months/years do you think? I have always thought it strange that we all seem do sure that a vaccine can be created, even though it is well known that there is no cure for the common cold which is also a Corona virus.... ..Replypaula sutton17 Jun 2020 3:05PMIs this even a story?India (the World's second most populous country) has let Coronavirus pretty much run free.In Brazil, Coronavirus has reached indigenous tribes in the middle of the Amazon. Is anyone really going to conclude anything except it is now endemic? The peak of cases in the UK was reached a week BEFORE lockdown. So why is Project Fear still running - we need to get cancer patients seen to, children in school and jobs available?Or are there some people pushing another agenda here?...tony platts17 Jun 2020 4:38PMIs there a spike in cases building after the BLM marches around the UK?Been over 10 days now , so if nothing untoward is happening that's a good sign and would validate lifting more of the lockdown restrictions.
