years ago Uni was fun for arts students - explore and think -
science students were always immersed in themselves with little time for discussion aprt from colleagues.
Arts and sciences have never integrated - simply because science insists Arts do not understand.

Pls vist when allowed - sadly Wales gestapo think 5 miles is too far to travel - my nearest s makt is 6 miles away.
sadly we do not get our daily fix because the queues for the fixes are so long -

It looked like sunshine galore out there today...plenty of Mercs, BMWs, Audis and top end cars on the road ...there doesn't seem to be any recession or depression out there so far...people got paid to stay home...

Jim Davidson isn't, wasn't ever a great comedian, Manning had great timing and Monkhouse was a great writer, cartoonist and comedian. I saw them all live in the 70's and 80's and Bob Monkhouse had the best act, Manning very funny, Davidson not in that league. But in fairness it all depends on your mood watching live acts, I couldn't stand Ken Dodd on TV but I saw him live and he was hilarious.

There are a few these days that fit the bill, Lee Mack is very funny and so is Al Murray 'The pub Landlord', but I just don't find Michael Mackyntire, Eddie Izzard, either of those Carr's or that ilk very funny.

Maybe tastes have changed, but 90% of today's comedians are awful.

Grahamite don’t really care what you believe. Jim Davidson himself told the story on tv during an interview I watched years ago and the audience were laughing with him. Funny world we live in.

ROBIZM, I never saw Manning live so I must take your word for it. I do know a lot of comedians are very different on stage and on TV - Bob Monkhouse, for instance, was very good indeed on stage.

As to your Davidson story, it sounds peculiar and I'd want some sort of evidence that (a) it happened at all and (b) that the substance has not been altered in the telling.

Grahamite my wife seen Manning live at a police do. She found it vile not like the things he said on tv. I went off Jim when he said he offered a young girl a lift home and drove her miles away from where she lived and basically said drop your knickers which she said no ( admire her for that) and kicked her out of his car in the middle of the night (he met her in a nightclub) and drove off and left her 12 miles from her house. If that was my daughter he would have needed crutches after I had finished with him.
