i looked into it for some other reason a little while back , found some outrageous figures, some of the CEO's taking £1mill salaries, how the fk does that count as charity ?

Astounding how much of a donation is swallowed up in "administration"

gnr - IMO it is past tinkering - as are WTO and the others btw. Most have the same T&C's.

Corporates need major mergers and acquisitions minimum every 10 years to clear out the dead wood and restructure. Painful but necessary. This will come over the next 24mths to many companies IMO as they take advantage of the shutdowns.

PO - We are all potentially 'on the edge of death', at least by accident. Yet CV19 has and continues to kill many otherwise fit people as well as those mor vulnerable by dint of pre-existing condition. The point was that the stated 'fact' of some numpty claiming that the virus dies naturally in 80 days is truly irrelevant when it can kill in 21 days.

Alp...He is withdrawing funding from the WHO at the wrong time. Why not send in a pack of efficiency henchmen to see what's being did and what's being hid. Or insert some of that Swiss discipline in their headquarters down the road from you!

I really do think this is going lower. I panicked and sold out at 38p, should have done it at 58p but generally I’m a long term holder. Capital loss is a real pain but I was here for divis. I want to get back in eventually and hoping to double my old share count and take some cash out of the system, over a number of company shares. I don’t think anyone has taken into account the cost of the virus yet. The press think it’s nearly over, the doctors say it’s just starting. It’s not hit the rest of the world yet and the virus could run continuously.

Maybe we will get a Christmas boost with a vaccine. Just in time for Brexit LOL

Alp, yeah. Go to Geneva being the hq of many charities. See the people working at Oxfam and the WWF. They are miles away from what most think of as a charity. They all want their very high tax free international rate salaries. I just give to the Sally army these days, zero confidence in the rest.

gnr - there is so much self interest in these huge bodies. I am not a Trump supporter but you need a guy like that to get some movement.

I thought loss leader was a good analogy. Some co's are down way below their value even after this mess and are true bargains. Lloy I fear is in the 'Reduced' section because it's past it's sell by :-(

scruff - don't take it literally.

Lloyds only needs to mail out letters and it would truly be a Post Office. On its pure domestic strategy unlikely to see much progress for a long time. The impact of the recession has yet to hit it. (We have the same view I think).
