I'm brushing up my skills on reading US accounts. When Trump is out it will be a better country to invest in.

No hurry then. Trump will be around a while yet.

So Boris gets in. The WA gets voted through. In a year we fall out of the EU No Deal and the UK loses a decade or two in prosperity. That's what will happen.

Min. If a drawn football game was decided on an infinite amount of penalties everyone would lose interest. The current political situation is the same. Cummings has played a blinder in understanding basic human needs. Brexit is like a headache, the people just want rid of it and they are not too concearned about the cure.. hence the mantra let's get brexit done, is pure genius. It's something you can come back to over and over. Every Tory interview gets it in at least once... it's almost perfect. To most the thoughts of a jc Labour government is bad. The thoughts of a Labour coalition with wee Jimmy krankie is too much to take. Negotiating a new deal, another referendum, placating the snp, another Scottish referendum where a minority half the size of London is holding the union to ransom .... It just isn't sitting well with the average person. Tbh if the tories fail to get a majority, and there is an anti brexit coalition, which is exactly what it will be... the government will be another wasted four yeara... the only good thing is that the youngsters will get to see the failings of the Marxist ideology and hopefully it will be the end of this version of Labour for some considerable time... almost worth it just for that.

If the chimps behave I might do a conservative - Buffettesque -DCF calculation on Lloyds as a Christmas present. That would give you an idea of Lloyds intrinsic value. The difficulty is knowing what growth figure to tap in and to a lesser extent the discount rate.

Anyone else done one on Lloyds per chance????

Yes, I can understand voter apathy. There really isn't anyone worth voting for. Vince Cable would have been a whole lot better than Swinson. Way out of her depth.

Election odds checker Tory majority 5/2, no overall majority 2/5. Sliding more and more in the Tories favour.

I don't think that's right. It is a Conservative majority that's odds on.

As I say, I can manage whatever result. Not a problem. My income doesn't depend on the UK economy - thank goodness for that.

mm2,

Care to give us a DCF calculation on Lloyds?

LOL

I don't look for confrontation and I don't seek it. But if you were in my presence you would need to choose your words more carefully. :)

Excellent question 1carus...not qualified to answer it though lol.

Lindsay McDougall

Change of subject. Who do those Channel 4 bosses think they are? The Conservative Party was entitled to put forward its best spokesman for the climate change debate.

Can't agree there. It was a leadership debate and for the Conservatives to put up a subordinate was rude to the other Parties, rude to the broadcasters and rude to the viewers.

However, the ice sculpture was grossly inappropriate. Was this a comedy programme, was it Have I Got News For You? Channel 4 managed to go from being the aggrieved party to putting themselves in the wrong.
