29/5/2019 11:03 | Does that include the Japanese and Koreans ? Or are they the wrong sort of Asians for that agenda ?? | ladeside
29/5/2019 10:56 | Got it in one Min, you are so clever. I ripped off every customer i could, especially the old granny's, i'd call the old dear over to her boiler and rattle my spanner on the side, 'oh dear that sounds bad love' 'never mind lad i'll have to have it done, is cash all right? Never bothered with the foreigners, they won't pay, especially the Asians!! This was my last Asian ever job. Got called out on a Sunday morning (no one else would go) and Abdul and son waiting by boiler, he had just come back from India and boiler was not working, I spent about an hour fixed it, and checked out all the system, then gave invoice for £40 (agreed before on phone)After 5 minutes of Hindi between dad and son i was offered £20. | mikemichael2

29/5/2019 10:42 | The Guardian on Nigel . . . . . "For years Farage has always insisted his goal is to make himself redundant, but without the attention he gets as a professional politician he could never be sure if he really existed. He feeds off the divisions he creates. The longer he spoke, the more obvious the fault lines became. He claims to want the Westminster politicians to deliver a no-deal Brexit, but is horrified at the thought they might actually achieve it. Because then he would be little more than an ageing picture in the attic." Noted. | bbalanjones
29/5/2019 10:35 | Max - yes, all these new ways of working will put pressure on traditional banking. Maybe that is a pressure on share prices, like Lloyds, as well. On my crypto thread I was trying to understand blockchain and its uses. Again a new way of working. I am always slightly nervous about security and at home even have separate computers for different uses plus a 'clean' travel laptop. OTT?! | alphorn
29/5/2019 10:29 | Insanity can last much much longer than your net-worth can fall! If you think you are safe in cash think again. A collapse in the £ will eat into that cash pile like no tomorrow, like a creeping cancer. | minerve 2
29/5/2019 10:28 | Hefty valuation on a start up Alp. Mind, looking at the runners and riders it would seem to be the way forward. | maxk
29/5/2019 10:27 | I must say Brexit is going very well. And Trump is doing an excellent job of fixing the US and the ROW. Feeling wealthier everybody? ROFLMAO! This is what happens when you let morons take charge. | minerve 2
29/5/2019 10:20 | These new startups are changing the face of banking with speed and reducing charges and costs. I focussed last year on reducing bank charges by closing private bank accounts and changing the way I move funds. It saved around £5k pa which is worth having, especially as returns are falling. Traditional banks will see their revenues under pressure. | alphorn
29/5/2019 10:16 | ……… Plaid opening up in the UK; it already has a licence. Founded in 2012, San Francisco-based Plaid helps customers and banks transmit data back and forth. Already has a valuation of around $3 billion last year. The startup allows digital finance companies, like PayPal Holdings Inc. or Betterment LLC, to more easily link with consumers’ existing bank accounts. The company currently works with more than 15,000 banks in the U.S. and Canada. The U.K. will be its first overseas expansion. | alphorn
29/5/2019 10:09 | Raab…"Unlike most of his rivals, he was educated at state school. While reading law at Oxford he captained the karate club and boxed for the university" A good pal for Vlad methinks. But this alleged contest is finishing the Tory party for ever...…… This should be all behind closed doors with the media twonks kept well away but the colossal vanity of some of these people beggars belief. But my money is still on Raab............trou | mr.elbee
29/5/2019 10:00 | Malthouse and Cleverly, both with exaggerated ideas of their importance and significance. They're just going to delay the election by a few more days while they're voted out. This is farcical. | poikka
29/5/2019 09:24 | "Left school at 15" And it shows, oh boy it does show! LOL No wonder you have an inferiority complex. | minerve 2
29/5/2019 08:59 | My verdict on the runners and riders in the Tory leadership race ALLISON PEARSON 28 MAY 2019 • 7:00PM Have you thought about standing to be the next leader of the Conservative Party? Come along, Marjorie – everyone else has thrown their hat in the ring. Today, someone called Kit Malthouse became the tenth MP to put his name forward. What or who is Kit Malthouse? Sounds like a hot milky drink. Not inappropriate, I guess, given the complete and utter Horlicks that is the once-great Conservative and Unionist Party. This is a serious contest in need of serious candidates. Tories are facing an extinction-level event. Three years after the referendum, The Brexit Party has convinced even the most loyal Conservatives to mutiny. Many are only hanging onto their membership cards to vote for the next leader... | maxk
