Interesting posts Turvart. I take a similar approach, fundamental but with an eye on the TA; and major TA signals like LLOY's golden-cross are IMPE worth noting.

Also an interesting point re: director's selling stock awards. When I was in the City such remuneration was variously restricted. At a minimum a recipient couldn't sell any for 3 years until it vested. The more senior the staff the longer the lock-in - 5 year and 10 year lock-ins certainly existed. On top of that it was considered very taboo, 'not done' to sell even vested Restricted Stock. The middle-ranks effectively needed senior approval. The top-most board always seemed to justify it by recording the purpose as for 'diversification'. I wonder what the culture is at LLOY re: such stock sales. Agreed it's a mixed message sales going through at the same time as buy-backs...

Hi Turvart, sorry not on premium anymore. Has investors we have to take profits when we can. I finished up about + 811 pound when I sold Lloyds . Not a great profit for keeping them 9 months, but at least a profit. On the 28th December last year on paper here I was down 11,250 pound so it was a good recovery. My own opinion is the stamp duty kills the profits we make if you buy and sell a lot. ( I purchase and sell added up about 11/2 to 2 million pound a year) I often buy shares with no stamp duty on them. These only have to go up a small amount to cover broker fee , then any extra is profit. At the end of the day it's what we are all aiming for

Yeah it's a bit demoralising to see but I think it's due to the tax advantages.

I am very bullish on this stock, but let’s put this scenario into play, Lloy keeps awarding their top directors with shares and then those top directors keep selling into the market, we keep getting RNS news releases with transactions in own shares? Then the directors have sold 300,000 shares? Not good for this stock really is it?
I’m still very bullish on this stock and I’ve added it to my pension but Lloy needs to get a grip with those top directors selling their free shares into the market it’s not good for publicity on this stock considering the fundamentals the stock holds. The top directors are bringing actual heat on this stock, when in fact they should be holding their shares from a fundamental point of view!

But it gets worse - if you want to see just how bad try this for size:

The Tory leadership can stop any deselection if it wants - we frequently did. CCHQ should suspend the local party.

This is beyond shocking. It exposes the whole "democratic" system we have as a sham and a farce.

Thanks Cheshire pete, but I have to say it goes well beyond just "goes against his constituents majority view." He has fought tooth and nail against the manifesto commitment of his Party. He is the enemy within and not even making any effort to hide it.

Gaffer73,
I agree strongly with your post, let’s just hope Lloy has learned it’s lesson with the market and not give too many shares to top directors who then sell into the market or this could be history repeated from the credit crunch, although I’ve stated my previous comments on why I think this is a buy, I’m not a big fan on the RNS news releases of top directors selling into the market of shares that have been awarded to them just because they are considered to doing a good job, it’s not good for investors or the stock as they are treading on thin ice with their past and should at all costs avoid this if they are serious with new investors.
It’s always been a massive weakness for Lloy to reward their top directors with shares and it’s ALWAYS blew the stock into oblivion!

I agree. If we call all get through 'you know what' this should be 85p+ by next year. The last update was very positive and with ppi coming to an end this should rocket up next year.

Well said g2.

Re: his deselection, can't see how he can feel too aggrieved, no pun intended, if he goes against his constituents majority view. A bit like getting fired from a job for failing.

Re: new Tory leader, tricky one now that Boris, Raab and JRM have wavered at MV3 vote. By rights leader should come from one of the 30 odd rebels who stood firm with the DUP. We need someone now with the bottle to wholeheartedly embrace no deal, but would they get support from a party full of wet remainers? GE not a solution unless Brexit Party comes to the fore.

TM saying after vote situation is 'grave' presumably referring to no deal exit in 2 weeks.....perish the thought 17+ million might actually get what they voted for ffs. Can she not see that?

I don't think that Grieve should be deselected. I disagree with his views, but he is wholly entitled to them.

Not often I disagree with you Poikka but on this you're quite wrong. Grieve is part of a party within a party which has given 40 years of active disservice to this country. They are as bad as the similar group within Labour who quite openly felt allegiance to Moscow rather than London.

I sometime watch the recorded version of the Richie Allen show on youtube - he has some interesting guests at times. He has said from the off, we will never be allowed to leave the EU, the likes of Junker are just puppets, their masters pull the strings and they will not allow it. I've always dismissed this as a little theatrical, after all, he needs listeners and he needs to be a little controversial to entertain his audience.
I now believe he is dead right and we will never leave the EU. The hidden hand will have its way. I'm so disappointed today, it really pains me.

As wise men should do, Grieve is making decisions he believes are right for the whole of the UK. He is NOT a servant to his constituency and idiots like you need to start waking-up to that fact.

Very poor level of intelligence on this thread. No wonder you don't get anywhere.
