In today's brief: UK eyes Canada agreement with Trudeau 'very optimistic' about straightforward negotiations. Meanwhile, the UK signs Faroes' fisheries agreement and tomorrow's deadline for the Government to respond to EU legal action over the Internal Market Bill looms.Canada 'very optimistic' about securing UK rollover deal: Speaking at a press conference after an EU-Canada video summit, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that a post-Brexit trade deal with Britain would be easy to agree. He predicted that a rollover deal with Britain to replace the EU-Canada trade agreement after Brexit will be "straightforward". He stressed Ottawa wanted a trade deal with Brexit Britain and that it would be much simpler than the ongoing trade talks with Brussels, making it clear that negotiations wouldn't get bogged down in the "complexities" blighting UK talks with Brussels. "There have been many discussions over the past years between myself and Prime Minister Johnson and his predecessor on that seamless transition," Mr Trudeau added.'Good progress' in Brexit talks claims Ursula: EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was also optimistic about current UK-EU negotiations saying that "we're making good progress" but also that the two biggest remaining issues were the level playing field and fisheries. "We are in very close contact on an hourly basis because the negotiations now have been intensified," she said.Mrs von der Leyen said the level playing field guarantees were the price for zero tariff access to the Single Market. "We are now in depth in detailing how we could construct a system that is fair for both sides for a level playing field," she said. One day left to respond to EU legal action: Boris Johnson has got a one day deadline to respond to EU legal action over the Internal Market Bill. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen issued a letter of formal notice to the UK at the beginning of this month, marking the beginning of a formal infringement process. EU officials claim that the Internal Market Bill would be in breach of the Withdrawal Agreement and announced they would initiate legal proceedings to prevent London from using domestic legislation to override aspects of the WA. The Commission said that the UK has until the end of this month to respond and if the Prime Minister didn't respond, the EU would press on with a lawsuit against the UK government. This action would be a dramatic development with talks having entered their final phases and the majority of reports suggesting the two sides have begun to make progress. Truss sets out her vision for trade policy: Yesterday, Liz Truss delivered a speech at Chatham House's 'Global Trade Live' event and set out her vision for UK trade policy. In her speech she mentioned the opportunities for the UK economy as we leave the EU, focusing on the UK tech sector, boosting free trade, high standards, joining the CPTPP and fighting protectionism. On tech she said that "we are the top destination in Europe for foreign direct investment. In technology, we attract more investment than France and Germany combined" and that British success stories in tech can help shape our future. She also said she would not compromise on the UK's redlines which are the NHS, food standards and levelling up the country. To close, Truss said "Now Global Britain is back, it is time for the makers, the doers and the innovators to help us write our most exciting chapter yet." The full speech can be watched on DIT's youtube channel here.Truss' take on Airbus row: Following the speech in London, Liz Truss criticised both the US and EU for "pernicious" trade practices in general. "We are extremely frustrated by the fact that this situation which has been running for 15 years hasn't been resolved," Truss said of the EU-US standoff, adding that she was in talks with both sides to find an urgent resolution. "Of course we will keep all options open to make sure the UK is able to respond in kind if those tariffs aren't removed."Truss also said that going forward, the UK would not follow an "autarkic Britain First approach" or a protectionist route, going on to criticise nations who use "their muscle to artificially promote state-subsidised products". Thanks, but no thanks: City A.M. reported that a senior US senator has said that the NHS should be on the table in UK-US talks. He said that a UK-US trade deal "ought to involve almost anything" and that the NHS would benefit from increased competition. Truss quickly shut down any speculation on the tweet, simply replying 'No.' Second fisheries agreement signed by UK: The UK has signed its second fisheries agreement since leaving the EU following an earlier agreement with Norway. This time the UK has signed a framework with the Faroe Islands meaning the sides will negotiate annually to promote sustainable fisheries and a fairer deal for Britain's industry. This treaty is a further step forward as the UK prepares to leave the EU's Common Fisheries Policy and ensures that the needs of our fishermen and fish stocks are put first. Faroe Fisheries Minister Jacob Vestergaard said that he was "especially pleased with the sincere and constructive working relationship between Faroe and UK Ministers and officials in recent years" and that the agreement showed the "joint ambition to develop further cooperation between our two nations". Perhaps Macron should take notes before he sees France shut out completely. For the latest news and developments throughout the day, please do follow @GlobalVision_UK on Twitter. Thanks for reading, and enjoy the rest of your day.

Only in America.. CNN advice. 1) Deliver the envelope on time, 2) Take the envelope with you and give it to them, or throw the envelope (lol) and ask to vote there. Now I am asking you.. can you see how corruption works? How many will do just that, vote two times when there's no system in place to check if a voter vote both ways.

Yes. The wider postal voting in the UK was introduced by Labour to allow increased fraud, which they were the beneficiary of 9 times out of 10 (and the tenth was the LibDems).

I don't think Now is the time to Buy, imo the US Election is likely to create significant volatility which could produce some better opportunities.
