Asa8,
No they'll be given free council housing and money to live off!!!
Nor will they be deported.

Nor are they asylum seekers.

They should be returned to France - dropped at Calais. Told if they're caught entering UK next time it's a capital crime.no exceptions.

If hard brexit happens likewise another massive drop.

I'm wetherspoons biggest fan but JL5's correct even I might think twice, its broad church appeal could be it's down fall which is a real shame! I'm also a shareholder at brewdog (like to give the Jocks a bit of encouragement) who I think might fare better on the high st in the short term.
Boozers will be the preserve of the youngsters for many years to come I fear.

Disagree.
It is the responsibility of the individual to ensure they have masks - not the supermarket.

jl, still don't get your point: the bar staff are no more vulnerable than anyone else. JDW are putting up precautions to ensure staff and customers can drink and eat safely - in line with government guidelines.

Best to read what JDW says:

The visors are intended to protect the vulnerable behind the bar.
The vulnerable should not be out of the home.
My doctors surgery states - do not come in - if you are suffering severe chest pains - pls ring 1112222.
Something from the Jeddi world?
If lorry drivers can go in and out of the country - why quarantine arrivals into the country. This is all about control by PHE ans SAGE - just make rules - suggests we have control.
MSF - Medecines sans frontiers - now diagnosis by video link.

Two week quarantine to be imposed from June 8 - watch live as Priti Patel leads daily briefing

The UK will impose a two-week quarantine, with fixed penalty fines of £1,000 for any breaches, from June 8, Home Secretary Priti Patel has announced.

Passengers will have to fill a form providing their contact and travel information so they can be traced if infections arise and could be contacted regularly during the 14 days to ensure their compliance.

Breaches will be punishable with a £1,000 fixed penalty notice in England, or prosecution with an unlimited fine, while devolved nations can set out their own enforcement approaches.

Anyone arriving by air, sea or rail will be advised to use personal transport to head to their accommodation and once there not leave for 14 days. But it will not apply to people coming from Ireland, medics tackling Covid-19 and seasonal agricultural workers....

jl - "Vulnerable staff should not be behind the bar - sounds like my doctors Dont come in - dont breathe - if you are having severe chest pains pls ring -"

What are you talking about, jl? Not being offensive, just don't understand.

Not to mention Bob's post.

From what I read, it sounds like a great way of opening pubs, and I guess that all pub companies will be doing likewise.

Will never hear this song without thinking of Utricky trees now

There's a loving in your eyes all the way
If I listen to your lies, would you say
I'm a man without conviction
I'm a man who doesn't know
How to sell a contradiction
You come and go, you come and go
Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma chameleon
You come and go, you come and go
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams
Red, gold, and green, red, gold, and green
Didn't you hear your wicked words every day
And you used to be so sweet, I heard you say
That my love was an addiction
When we cling, our love is strong
When you go, you're gone forever
You string along, you string along

It's all down to the rate of economic recovery, end of. And what the BoE do at some point to stimulate inflation up to near their target of 2%. At the moment we are heading into further deflation which makes me think they wont go negative rates.
I think the results from Q3 will be the tell all.

Too difficult to predict!

- Brexit is a big unknown!
- C-19 is a big unknown!

I would not be buying at the present prices, no way!

I think there is further downside...

Thought that it was illegal for LAs to borrow to invest?
If u know that it is happening and where JR then you need to take the matter up with the Minister.
