This is going to fade out of the news when Syria kicks off big time - again - I predict. Actually, like everyone else, I don't really know.

What I do know is that the virus has thrown a light on the fragility of global economies, which a lot of us were concerned about, anyway. We need a recession to clear out the weak, and then off we go again.

Are banks the place to be atm, though. Maybe not, but they're not suffering as greatly as I thought that they would. That may well be that there's not much in the way of profits to be taken, lol.

May be missing the obvious but assuming all businesses do not go bust many will be looking for loans to smooth out cash flow and continue operations. Sounds like boom time to me.

Don't know anything about it but I did when at university had an organised visit around a crematorium. There were two incinerators. Would take a while to see off 2000 bodies at that rate.

Not making light of the virus but in my lifetime, as a child we caught
Mrasles
German Measles
Chicken Pox
Mumps
The list goes on....

Chernobyl was meant to wipe out millions as was the Reactor meltdown in Japan

We have survived, Nature has a way

Whilst I sadly accept the frail may succumb to the virus, it is not uncommon in any given year.

mike, not comparable to uk. The health standards are much lower in those you mention, probably outweighing the effects of the weather.

@Mike,

I have posted such previously on these BB's.

Not going to spend time trawling through my daily posts to find them,sorry.

About 2-3 weeks ago+

Then there was this...

"Chinese media is reporting that 40 industrial incinerators have been deployed to Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak which has officially killed more than 2,000 people - mostly in China."

Why deploy these if the crematoriums already there arent swamped?????

Careful that's pathetic lefty clutching at straws. This market collapse is worldwide and nothing to do with Boris or Cummings. You must work for the BBC with analysis like that!

xxxxxxxxxy, We only know about the coro death rate (that's the virus not the telly program) from what we are told, but all the experts i've heard are saying for most it's much milder than the common flu, and a 2-3-4-5% death rate for those who would be dead in 3 months anyhow (the old and weak). And those views are from word experts on the coronavirus.

The danger for pandemics and such is that its so mild in most people, it spreads quickly because a lot don't realise they've got it, so I've heard from experts.

@GBH2

"Information coming out of China is dubious at best and downright unreliable at all times."

Agreed.

Which means the R0 and mortality rates are far far higher.

Making it even worse than the Flu than it currently obviously is on the data we have.

The main questions I have

For so few deaths, why are the Crematoriums workin 24/7, why are 700million people on shut down, and why are whistleblowers of the ensuing disaster "disappearing"

Then there are the mobile incinerators" being shipped in and people dropping dead on the streets.

Too many questions - the numbers just don't add up.

Which means whatever precautions ROTW takes are based on false information!

Good luck to us all.

BB, You say 'full support to minny, with you all the way'.

Really? You support all his views? You want all over 50 to get cancer and die? Are you sure you digress slightly from minny on this point and just hope all English over 50 get cancer and die?
