EU to adopt directives on talks with UK in February
The European Commission published on Friday a questionnaire explaining in detail the process of Britain's exit from the bloc on January 31 and the ensuing transition period and negotiations on the future relationship.

The commission said it will adopt comprehensive draft negotiating directives for the talks on February 3, with the Task Force for Relations with the United Kingdom (UKTF) being in charge, headed by European Council President Charles Michel.

Any potential extension of the transition period, currently set to end on December 31, 2020, must be jointly decided by July 1 and it can be done only once, for a period of a maximum of two years.
During this period, the UK will not be included in the decision-making process in the EU, however, EU laws will still apply to it and it will remain in the customs union and the single market. It will also be able to conclude trade deals with third countries.

"During this period, the UK will not be included in the decision-making process in the EU, however, EU laws will still apply", well thats an improvement?

Hold on..
"It will also be able to conclude trade deals with third countries.?

So...how is that going to work out??

On the 17th July 2018, the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement was officially signed, becoming the world's largest bilateral free trade deal, creating an open trade zone covering nearly one-third of global GDP.

BORIS Johnson wants to strike Britain’s first post-Brexit trade deal with Japan, and before the end of the year, in a bid to whip up a bandwagon.

Cabinet ministers have agreed to pursue an agreement with Tokyo at lightning speed, with hopes rising among nation’s leaders that it could be wrapped up in the Autumn.

Hello...Japan...UK calling...
You know the trade deal that you have with the EU, that we are (still) currently a part of?
Well we are leaving the EU, and we would like to make a bigger, better deal with you directly..is that ok with you??

Japan seeking big concessions from Britain in trade talks.

Japan is seeking tougher concessions from Britain in trade talks than it secured from the EU.
Japanese trade negotiators are confident they can extract better terms, the Financial Times reported, in a sign of the mounting difficulties facing UK officials as they attempt to line up post-Brexit trade deals around the world.

m2 has had a second class education and it shows, in fact, he comes across as an emotional mess. With so much time on his hands, maybe he should try yoga; he needs to experience some Zen time. Poor chap.

Utricky - something I wonder about with these clowns who tell us how wonderful diversity is. Do they really mean it (is that even possible)? Are they accepting reality and trying to make the best of it (which is quite sensible)? Do they enjoy lecturing people?

It's OK boomers, once you're all out of the way, we can get back to normal, like enjoying diversity, enjoying experiencing cultures different to this godawful rock, and actually doing something about climate change.

"Now we can put the rancour and division of the past three years behind us and focus on delivering a bright, exciting future - with better hospitals and schools, safer streets and opportunity spread to every corner of our country."

Yes, because the Tories were doing so well with hospitals, crime, transport, equal opportunities, etc in the 6 years from 2010 to the EU referendum in June 2016!

CtR, he has filtered me, I am gutted, PMSL. One bloke that despite all his wealth, and achievements is so lacking in confidence that he has to tell everyone at every opportunity how well he has done. Real achievers just don't feel the need to do that. They are comfortable in their own skin.

I think Min has just become someone that people poke with sticks and then laugh at his reactions. I cant take the bloke seriously.

Why does anyone save in an Cash ISA?

They'd be far better off putting it in a Stocks n Shares ISA - earning far higher yield. Shell. Glaxo or similar blue chip company.
