Strange comment. The region has some unpalatable governments to the western mind but I'd side with America and Saudi Arabia than Russia and Iran. Each to their own.

gnr - with today's three super powers US, China and Russia I am hopeful that they would not allow military action to get out of hand. IMO Iraq only happened because Russia was weakened after USSR and nobody else (eg China) was going to block anything. Today is different. I believe that is how the markets are reading it too.

LADESIDE "carefully choreographed" Couldn't agree more, if they have this degree of pinpoint detail in exchanges before a strike, think what it can achieve if it was used to square their political/religious differences. Staggered to see this satellite shot of the aftermath of the attack showing seven helicopters sitting comfortably on their pads in perfect symmetry, I would have thought the explosive power of 20 ballistic missiles concentrated in such a limited space would have blown them to smithereens! They and personnel must have been removed from harm's way during the hours of the lame attack!
