03/4/2019 16:58 | I saw question time and Varoufakis. His weak point was the EU.would check goods at the Irish border if there was no trade deal. Checking a few cattle and other goods at the Irish border according to him is the equivalent of a surrender document at the end of a war. He is a bright bloke, but his flowery language is ridiculous, designed to excite the ignorant. | careful
03/4/2019 16:49 | ”This is deal a nation only signs after they have been defeated at war” Varoufakis on May's treason Succinct summary of May's WA Strange Careful cant see such - wonder why. | wbecki

03/4/2019 16:38 | Anonymous Posted April 3, 2019 at 12:24 pm | Permalink Cross party cooperation is what we’ve had for over 20 years. Look where it got us. Mr Cameron expected (and hoped) for further coalitions when he offered an EU referendum – ie he wanted continuity Blairism, but won an unexpected majority instead. And a signal from voters that we should return to politics as it should be, with real choice. Now Mrs May has to combine with a Marxist against those in her own party and certainly against her voters. | xxxxxy

03/4/2019 16:20 | "careful 3 Apr '19 - 17:13 - 253856 of 253858 0 0 0 They could scupper the hopes of the next Tory leader if he hopes to tear up any agreement. They could put a minimum duration clause in and pass it into law. Just like the fixed term parliament act, which demands a 2/3 majority in the house to reverse it." Again this wont stand up to proper scrutiny as Treason will be one get out, and no parliament can bind the hands of the next either fyi!!! | wbecki

No such thing possible. Jezza must know that. | wbecki
03/4/2019 16:17 | I dont believe the Political Class realise the powder keg they're going to open if they overturn Brexit. "The UK.... has been defeated in war." Yanis Varoufakis" Bitish people, even most Remoaners, will not accept such a betrayal. | wbecki

03/4/2019 16:01 | "Jeremy Corbyn said he wanted any Brexit deal he reaches with Prime Minister Theresa May to be put into law so it cannot be changed by her successor, the Evening Standard newspaper quoted him as saying. “Theresa May has pledged to her party that she will stand down as prime minister once a deal is secured. So while I respect her word, anything we are able to agree with her would need to be put into law so that it is guaranteed for this parliament,” he told the newspaper." Escape clause for JC? | poikka
03/4/2019 15:58 | Insider tweet: Just bumped into Jeremy Corbyn on his way back from talks with the PM. He told me the two-hour sit down had gone "very well" and that he expected further talks with the PM soon. unquote | polar fox
03/4/2019 15:56 | I wonder if Corbyn will compromise. Corbyn first wants an election. followed by a customs union with free movement followed by a second referendum. SNP want an election. A customs union with free movement. A second referendum A second referendum for Scottish independence. Will they compromise or is this just another poker hand by May to bring her ERG into line? | careful
03/4/2019 15:50 | "Chris Heaton-Harris has been in charge of preparations for a no-deal exit. In his resignation letter, he says these are "well-advanced". However, he says the PM's desire not to leave the UK without a deal has made "his job irrelevant". He said the UK should have left the EU on 29 March and he cannot support any further delay to Brexit." Steve Baker tweets, "Hero". | poikka

03/4/2019 15:02 | RR - there was also the Jaguar bit - went off to Ford early and the Land Rover bit which stayed until 2000 when it went off to Ford too. Don't forget Unipart, the parts division, which was pretty powerful in its own right. Spun out too and today is one the largest privately owned companies in the UK. All in all a sorry story. | alphorn
03/4/2019 14:30 | I've had to have a little chuckle over the army boys allegedly shooting a picture of corbyn. There are three guys shooting on a range, the camera shows them emptying the clips in their hanguns, then pans down the range to look at the targets, which there are three pistol targets one for each soldier and to the left of them a rather large picture of corbyns face. The issue I have with it is if they were shooting at Corbyns pic rather than the pistol targets, the grouping of the shots is particularly dismal! I don't think you can determine what they were actually shooting at, maybe they like Corbyn looking on over them. What could they possibly fear from a Corbyn government anyhow? | 1carus
03/4/2019 14:27 | BMW did sell Rover - but they kept the Mini. | willoicc
03/4/2019 14:22 | "I confess that I do not know who made the gearbox in my Rover 75. I believe it did have a Rover engine." FFS shut up then. You obviously have NO CLUE what you are talking about! | minerve 2 |
