14/5/2004 17:29 | Q: "You are probably well aware that many fans are of the opinion that fourth place is not good enough for a club of Liverpool's stature, would you agree?" GH: "Yes, fourth place is not good enough for me. Fourth place hurts me but I know what has happened this year and the board knows that too." | abix47

14/5/2004 15:26 | Aye, I'll have a pint of passionate tryers and a packet of stars please...;) See Stevie G has said he will be very dissapointed if we don't buy at least 3 world class players in the summer so Vierra, Pires and Henry it is then GH would fit them nicely into defence. | rb5
14/5/2004 13:05 | I'm sure it's happened but a young keeper on his debut is likely to be trying his heart out whatever the result. I just think if there is a young keeper who cares about the club and has demonstrated the bottle to perform on a big stage and has talent should be bought quickly. The more 'loyal' players you have at the club the more determined the overall squad becomes. Give me passionate tryers over stars anyday. | abix47
14/5/2004 12:52 | Does that mean if he was an Everton fan or a Newcy fan he wouldn't have tried so hard and even let one slip thru his fingers makes you wonder. buy that man a beer ;) | rb5
14/5/2004 12:47 | SAINTS HERO IS A RED Steve Hunter 14 May 2004 Rookie Southampton hero goalkeeper Alan Blayney helped Liverpool into the Champions League with a fantastic display against Newcastle, and has now admitted he is a big Red. Blayney, who hails from Belfast, was only told 40 minutes before the Newcastle game that he was playing due to an illness to Finnish international Antti Niemi. Blayney said he was more than happy to help his beloved Liverpool into the Champions League and enjoy the experience of playing for the Southampton first team in a Premiership match. Blayney said: "I was always a Liverpool fan and it is a big bonus to think I've helped them get a Champions League place." On the save from Alan Shearer which was described by former Saints boss Lawrie McMenemy as Gordon Banks like from Pele in 1970, the keeper added: "I couldn't believe I had saved it really. I saw the ball come across the six-yard box and he (Shearer) headed it down into the ground. I just spread myself and hoped it would hit me. "It did and it went over the bar. Afterwards, as I lay on the ground with the blood pumping and the fans shouting my name, it was great, unbelievable!" Get him bought. | abix47
14/5/2004 09:46 | bert/rb5...you read the spread in morning mail?...........i thought howlier had a heart condition, not something related a bit further 'up north' ?.lol | stucom
14/5/2004 09:44 | GH is a better spin doctor than Tony Blair He's telling veryone we've made progress this season simply because we've finished 4th and last season we finished 5th, but even if we win our last game of the season we will still finish with less points than last year ! Hardly progress is it? | rb5
13/5/2004 19:10 | FUKY SUKY FIVE DORRAR it is then ;-)))))) | thenry
13/5/2004 18:53 | GH interview; Do you think the team has progressed this season? Yes, because last season we finished fifth. This season we wanted to get back into the Champions League and by finishing fourth we will have achieved that. Did I say xmas?? ;)) See the board have rejected Morgans offer | rb5
