Article states profit of £7m but of course it should be in AUD (and 6.3m not 7m}.

Doh!

Yes it was, but it appears today as a new RNS-R on my ADVFN portfolio list. Hence my confusion.

The 'companion' announcement you refer to was released back in December.

I have just seen this post from our revered founder on a completely different thread, (Ediston Property) some time ago. Good on him, I say......

Oh hello speccy and Winnie (BTW where is bradfordwig?). I'm feeling great, just sold one of my USA properties (Naples FL 34108 Gulfshore) stonking market currently, $16m! Bought it 5 years ago for $5m, spent $1m, and in the meantime had great times there with family.

As you know I have never had to pay CGT on any of my share profits,(sic, lol) over the last 24 years (everything in PEPS and ISAs about which you know nothing of course). Different story in the USA though. On completion they force you to pay a large wodge into escrow against your potential gains calcs, 20% max.

Still joyful, though. One day one or both of you might make a bob or two on your little REITS. Having seen all your posts over the years you should not hold your breath.... I prefer the real (geddit?) thing.

P.S. I've just repatriated some of my profits. Great timing eh? Got 83p sterling for each dollar. Hey Ho.

I think you'll find your supposed "troll" (whose name you imitate!) actually posted on this board regarding the Poland case prior to LCM's announcement.

Regarding the Comet truck case there is a potential spanner in the works, although I can't imagine it will be successful.

Brad_K - not just on ADVFN.Investegate, too, is missing some content (but that's not unusual). This is a companion RNS with more general news:

Old jonwig 'omitted' to mention this second announcement by LIT. Sounds like pretty good news to me!

Maybe I Need some help with the maths, but how do they get a Gross Profit of 6.3m in the LCM column. Looks like 8.6m to me.

The performance fee to LIT is great, but the actual fund return seems a bit paltry.

With that and the Poland case we should be seeing some rather nice uplift in profits in the next updates

"The settlement deal was confirmed by both sides on Friday but its terms were not disclosed.

In its UK accounts for the financial year ending in September 2022, published this month, KPMG made a provision of £179mn to cover the cost of future fines and legal claims.

The figure had risen from £92mn two years earlier despite the conclusion of several regulatory investigations since 2020."

Interesting to re-read another FT article from the date the funding was announced;

They were very dubious about whether the claim would succeed, well they have now been proven wrong - so it's a win for LIT and Carillion stakeholders.

Based on the £179m they had provided for I'd expect this will provide a nice gain, but let's see if an RNS arrives...
