OPEC Wins Hedge Funds Back With Jump in Oil Bets Before Deal
by Catherine Traywick
2017 M05 29 01:01 GMT+2 2017 M05 29 23:52 GMT+2

→ Net-long position on WTI rose by most this year: CFTC
→ u.S. supply drop will be key to sustaining the enthusiasm

Hedge funds are giving OPEC some credit again.

Following four weeks of growing pessimism, bets on rising West Texas Intermediate prices jumped the most this year just as Saudi Arabia and Russia were mustering support for the deal they struck in Vienna last week, U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission data show.

What happens to U.S. stockpiles will be key to sustaining the enthusiasm, and the Saudis know that. In addition to prolonging a historical deal with allies, the kingdom plans to reduce exports to the world’s biggest consumer...

Today's meeting

On my way back from the meeting now, attended with BigDouble and enjoyed meeting the new team. Very happy with the team and their plans and stayed for a few 1 to 1s after it finished . I truly believe that we are well set for recovery now and share price for sure will multi bag from here. Don't need to ramp and never have but will most likely put my money where my mouth is and top up again soon

RE: Koot
Andrew Monk from VSA made this happen, did something similar with SULA and look what happened there, I really don't think folk here truly understand the scale of the appointment and how fortunate we are to have someone of his calibre here

RE: Brilliant.
Neil has probably done all he can as a Geophysicists go! A Petrochemical Engineer should be able to expand on what has been proven!

Possibly why Leo was attracted to shallow 38api oil.

Petroleum engineering is a field of engineering concerned with the activities related to the production of hydrocarbons, which can be either crude oil or natural gas. Exploration and Production are deemed to fall within the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry. Exploration, by earth scientists, and petroleum engineering are the oil and gas industry's two main subsurface disciplines, which focus on maximizing economic recovery of hydrocarbons from subsurface reservoirs. Petroleum geology and geophysics focus on provision of a static description of the hydrocarbon reservoir rock, while petroleum engineering focuses on estimation of the recoverable volume of this resource using a detailed understanding of the physical behavior of oil, water and gas within porous rock at very high pressure.

The combined efforts of geologists and petroleum engineers throughout the life of a hydrocarbon accumulation determine the way in which a reservoir is developed and depleted, and usually they have the highest impact on field economics. Petroleum engineering requires a good knowledge of many other related disciplines, such as geophysics, petroleum geology, formation evaluation (well logging), drilling, economics, reservoir simulation, reservoir engineering, well engineering, artificial lift systems, completions and oil and gas facilities engineering.

Hello 12bn - I'm still here - I'm glad you didn't filter me for ' nit picking on trivia ' because that would have made you appear very silly as most people posting on bulletin boards want to get their facts right when posting otherwise readers tend to doubt the opinion bit that accompanies the so called facts.

Mind you 12bn I do think you dropped a clanger when you boasted you didn't bother to research LGO before posting as you weren't an investor - I've never seen someone post such a crass statement and expect a positive response - have a good weekend!

RE: Rubbish
It potentially holds good value, upon a new licence issue (through sale, partner or operating). Along with obtained data sourced with Ciuden on their capture and storage research. It's an ideal location for gas storage or EOR.

The location fulfils the internationally established geological criteria for installations of this kind, such as depth, porosity, thickness of the seal and reservoir formations and water salinity (reference: Table 3.1 Key Geological Indicators for storage site suitability (Based on Chadwick et al. 2007). Page 31 Best Practice for the storage of CO2 in saline aquifers. Observations & Guidelines from the SACS & CO2STORE Projects).

Leo Koot

Dear London South East User

Next Thursday evening (1st June), London South East are holding their next Private Investor Evening at the NEX Exchange near Liverpool Street station in London, to be hosted by industry guru, Zak Mir.

It starts at 5.45pm, and speakers will be finished by 8.30pm.
We had great feedback from our last event, and hope this one will be even better. As before, there's no cost, but spaces are limited.

The speaker lineup is great - we've got:

Leo Koot, CEO of LGO Energy (LGO)
Scott Maybury, CEO of Private & Commercial Finance (PCF)
Angelos Damaskos, Sector Investments Fund Manager talking about Oil and Gold
Rajan Dhall, Technical Analyst, talking about IPOs and understanding value
Patrick Birley, CEO of NEX

I'm happy to take advice from others on advfn posting etiquette and would be happy to hear from anyone who has read the post from 12bn 26/05/2017 8:26 (902).

12bn has filtered me - which on another board means he doesn't see what I post if he signs in with his moniker - that bit is straightforward.

Presumably ban from the thread is a different process and unless he does that I could continue posting on his thread which is a bit of a catch 22 for him - any thoughts?

Is anyone able to indicate the criteria for a post to appear on the General advfn LGO chat board or is that a question that should not be asked!
