20/12/2017 17:49 | Thanks Paul. Just trying to dig out the pros and cons. Some things we know from the IBM partnership.VS currently have:Over 15,000 suppliers registeredOver 20m products registeredOver 80,000 orders processed monthly.Over 4million hourly updates. | soupdragon55
20/12/2017 17:48 | I am a newby here having bought in solely for the stake in VS which I consider to be a potential winner. I do have some experience of Monitise having bought in a very low price and luckily got out near the top. Monitise never made a profit; it had a brilliant idea but moved too slowly and was overtaken by others. Its link with IBM was too late. VS is completely different having a good business model, a proven track record and some outstanding clients. It seems to me that LEG's stake in VS will transform the share price once the wider market recognises the fact and above all when VS is floated on a market - hopefully NASDAQ. Until then any price tag is guesswork, but it is indeed possible that it could become a 'unicorn'. Blue Star is in a similar situation with its big stake in Satoshipay where again the real value of the shares will only be realised when Satoshipay gets a stock market quote either by a RTO or IPO. Vela has soared 50% today and is up x4 on the month because of its 7% stake in BTL a quoted blockchain company whose shares are rising fast. I have confidence in VS and am waiting patiently for a stock market quotation. Ivor | ivor hunch
20/12/2017 17:38 | Lend is correct, it hasn't formally been announced yet. When it is as you say pt103 - it could be massive. | professor pettigrew
20/12/2017 17:30 | In addition Soup IBM are a bit like a John Lewis or Debenhams. They want you to buy from them for all your Business Services needs. If they havent an offering then they look to partner with a company that does just like an Engineering contractor who bring in specialist skills. They have to do this or the client will simply walk away and go to a company that can offer the full service. IBM win VS win. | paulthomas103
20/12/2017 17:18 | Soup, GBS as in Global Business Services? I work with GE GBS so i understand the scope of these Business units. If so, thats bigger and way more widespread than i ever imagined. | paulthomas103
20/12/2017 17:15 | It hasn’t actually been formally announced yet. | lendmeafiver
20/12/2017 17:12 | I've no idea soup - I wasn't part of the negotiations! | professor pettigrew
20/12/2017 17:02 | Thanks Paul, VS are in partnership with IBM GBS which is different but I get your point. As I say I don't have any experience other than Moni. PP, obviously there will be a benefit to VS of having a big boy on their side. What do IBM GBS get out of it? | soupdragon55
20/12/2017 16:55 | I would think that the big cheeses at VS, having built up the business slowly but surely over the years, and with Notion on board after doing due diligence, wouldn't sign up to something with IBM that wouldn't benefit VS. Remember too, Zaf is a decent shareholder in VS and will have some say about things. | professor pettigrew
20/12/2017 16:55 | How about ATOS SE. They're the first i found and they seem to have done very well. | paulthomas103
20/12/2017 16:53 | Ok, ok, so VS is different, can one of you please explain in what way their partnership is different. | soupdragon55
20/12/2017 16:52 | Yes, soup, Monitise a completely different kettle of fish and big losses to boot. VS is another planet. | professor pettigrew
20/12/2017 16:50 | Paul / Lend, what do IBM get in return as part of the partnership? Paul, feel free to post your positive IBM partnerships, the only one I have experience of was the one between Moni and IBM. I only post about that which I know. | soupdragon55
20/12/2017 16:47 | Monitise were making losses of £40+ million. Very different world. Could you not have looked for a success story IBM partnership? | paulthomas103
20/12/2017 16:46 | Lend, wish that would be the case, but I'd say that shareholders would benefit from an increased LEG shareprice more. Given Zaf's history of mishandling cash in the company, you would probably not see any of it. Look at the £1m raised in the last placing. None of it was used for investments, then Zaf got another loan (from a company he is involved with) to buy the additional VS holding. | soupdragon55
20/12/2017 16:45 | VS had nothing in common with Monitise, completely different business, overhead, headcount and reason for partnership. | lendmeafiver
20/12/2017 16:41 | Surely IBM will end up buying VS before it gets to IPO? LEG will most likely use those significant proceeds from the sale of VS to 1) pay a special dividend and 2) invest in new businesses, a 50:50 basis would be fine with me. | lendmeafiver
20/12/2017 16:37 | Have a look at Monitise and their partnership with IBM. | soupdragon55
20/12/2017 16:34 | Lend, I think the IBM partnership is most exciting. Fortune 500 company will open so many doors for VS and i would say ultimately buy them. The share price will look after itself in due course. I'd like to see another stock with this much going on and huge global potential at such a ridiculously low price. Prof, i was always slightly cagey on the 1p valuation but looking at VS alone, i'm converted. PS the recent hires have excellent backgrounds which is another tick up. | paulthomas103

20/12/2017 16:30 | 'Tis very strange. I wonder if it's the underperformance of our other holdings that is holding back the LEG sp? We know there are quite a few of the impatient out there, and there are still many investors would have been buying in the high teens / low twenties, who will probably sell once we go over 0.2p. We know VS is most definitely our jewel in the crown, and I have high hopes for IBS. Maybe Zaf should do a thorough review of how everything else is doing, and if necessary sell down the other holdings and raise cash. That way we concentrate on VS and IBS, and it may be that there will be a way to increase our holding a bit in VS. If the IPO is on the menu for sometime next year, I would be in favour of a placing to raise sufficient funds to buy extra shares in VS if possible. | professor pettigrew
20/12/2017 16:13 | And an IBM Partnership! | lendmeafiver |
