Scan4Safety – Committed to demonstrating the benefits of adopting standards, barcodes and common ways of working.
home1

As demonstrator sites, we aim to provide clear guidance and best practice and UK-based exemplars that all NHS Acute Trusts in England can learn from.

Similar to those systems used in shops by retailers, the introduction of barcoding standards will help us to better identify and match our patients, products, and locations.

From better patient safety and experience, to improved operational efficiency, the benefits are clear.

But don’t just take our word for it, see below for the latest real-life benefits already being realised within the demonstrator sites and what this potentially means for the wider NHS.

Across the six demonstrator sites, early signs of benefits are extremely encouraging, with over £700,000 of savings already being identified:

Stock reduction/one off stock holiday – £233,000
Reduction in wastage/obsolescence – £462,000
Non-clinical pay efficiencies – £46,000
Based on these initial findings, it is estimated that for a typical NHS Hospital trust, the benefits could be:

Time release to patient care – equivalent to 16 band 5 nurses per trusts, that’s 2,400 band 5 nurses across the NHS.
A reduction of inventory averaging £1.5 million per trust, £216 million across the NHS.
Ongoing operational efficiencies of £2.4 million per trust annually, that’s £365 million across the NHS.
The demonstrator sites will be publishing more detail here on all the various benefits they uncover so watch this space!

Good post Kareus. I think a few have touched on this issue. The reality is no one knows when the next rns is or what the next valuation of VS will be. It's all conjecture. So we should stick to facts, good research and see what happens. Opinions are just that and if u state that there will be an rns or price movement by a certain date then be ready to be shot down!

I think all those laying into cc/rtw should desist immediately - he /she is a decent and informative contributor to the boards , I don't like to see these ' I told you so ' comments - it's just poor show. If you have nothing worth saying , best say nothing at all.

paleje - does it need spelling out again?

Results, plus the valuation on VS, plus any VS contracts, plus anything else.

An mcap here of £6.50m is nonsense. Our holding in VS is worth £7m alone at the last valuation, and we have £1m cash.

I really would suggest saving your money - there's rarely anything in those reports that you can't get from a very, very quick google. It's a tax on the lazy/uninitiated.

It might be something to make paper aeroplanes with whilst the candlesticks and tea leaves rearrange themselves and align with the bottles of bollinger and the McDonald and the 3rd level of the french resistance or whatever other nonsense is spouted in between price moving news.

Legendary Investments has cleaned up its portfolio and raised new funding to support both existing and possible new investments, along with its working capital needs. Like all early-stage or 'venture' investment vehicles, sorting the 'wood-from-the-chaff' is a process best left to the experienced. LEG's management brings exactly this, having demonstrated the ability to both create value for investors and, just as importantly, to recognise when is the time to cut failing opportunities. Now trading at a discount to Beaufort's estimated 'sum-of-parts' and with one of its investments seemingly offering the relatively near-term potential to create significant additional investor value, we have taken a closer look at this opportunity. Following this, our Speculative Buy recommendation on the shares is repeated, while also revising the target price to 0.5p/share. - 16/05/16
