Lord Carter recommendation 11

As with many of the recommendations, economy of scale is a major NHS system-wide issue. There is a systematic failure to capture the benefits of scale, particularly in the delivery of clinical services. Trusts need to identify where they can deliver services using different configurations across geographical areas, as well as creating new care models.

Impact on Procurement: Work streams will be established, not just for clinical services but also capital and estates, back office and procurement, leading to team consolidation, hubs and shared services.

NHS Improvement to ensure that investment takes place in systems underpinning the collection of performance data so that good performance can be highlighted and poor performance addressed properly. The intention is that trusts will make meaningful use of performance data and new key systems such as e-rostering, e-prescribing, patient level costing, e-catalogues and inventory management, RFID systems and electronic health records. Impact on Procurement: The NHS has a very poor track record in such implementation. It needs standards, incentives and investment, not least in the application of procurement and supply chain systems.

Lord Cartor recommendation 8

Joint clinical governance will be set up with national bodies, followed by deeper assessment of the unwarranted clinical variation that exists in the quality of healthcare. It will draw together quality, productivity and efficiency performance metrics. A more holistic and systems approach to be adopted, bringing all clinical programmes into one governance model.

Impact on Procurement: Clinical specialties are frequently unaware of the purchasing and cost profiles of their treatments. Over-ordering is common, with inadequate “track and trace”. Argues for more active collaboration between procurement and clinicians.

Lord Carter report recommendation 13

NHS Improvement to Develop a Single, Integrated Performance Framework.
By July 2016

The intention is to ensure that there is one unified set of metrics and a consistent approach for reporting while at the same time reducing and rationalising the overall reporting burden. There will be a quarterly reporting cycle designed to be sharply focused, rigorous and reliable. It will also include the introduction of lean daily management.

Impact on Procurement: As metrics alone don’t deliver improvement, there is a considerable emphasis on a cultural change whereby knowledge-building and collaboration occur nationally, regionally and locally. NHS Improvement will need to create guidelines and toolkits to build that level of understanding from executive boards down.

END- TO –END DIGITAL PROCUREMENT
There can be no doubt of the procurement complexities faced in the current economic climate – NHS trusts are under increased pressure to deliver financial savings, while suppliers attempt to increase their revenue potential. The combination of differing priorities is complex enough, but when these are combined with the limitations and confines of procuring through fragmented and inflexible IT systems, the purchasing journey comes under even greater pressure.
The Edge delivers a game changing approach in the creation of an online, private ‘Amazon style’ marketplace; suppliers are provided with the tools to quickly and easily upload and manage their product catalogue, including all product information and inventory levels, while NHS Trusts are provided with an agile, scalable procurement platform for all categories of spend.
The Edge works intelligently and collaboratively with the Trusts existing network of systems and processes, enabling the flow of business critical information throughout the enterprise. Procurement departments are provided with the functionality to intelligently search and procure with complete visibility of all available options and prices, enabling trusts to immediately select the most cost effective option.
To further provide transparency, The Edge maintains visibility of the entire order lifecycle – all orders status updates can be viewed, managed and reported on, in one intuitive interface.
The Edge is the agile, scalable, digital platform that supports both suppliers and trusts, in achieving dramatic resource efficiencies and substantial cost savings, while unlocking a new level of commercial effectiveness.
Benefits
§Dramatically reduces supplier catalogue submission time §View real–time inventory levels of all supply chain participants §Improves accuracy of supplier data
§Compliant with current NHS Trust processes
§Reduce invoice queries
§End User alert when orders are tracking late §Works collaboratively with all systems and processes §Transparency across the whole supply chain
§No cost to trusts

I think 0.25p would suit most here for starters Kaerus.

I agree that it is achievable. The timescales however are not the next 12 months IMHO therefore I'd like to see 0.25p breached before any corks are popped and any non-decimal share prices are discussed. It's just my own personal chickens/eggs/hatched balance.

My urge of caution has actually sparked an informative debate, so hopefully another blue day tomorrow and another gentle reach towards our first target of 0.25p.

1p is very easily achievable mate or I wouldn't be invested here otherwise .

RTW1 - given your research and our prospects going forward, would you say my earlier post about 1p being realistic is stretching it a bit or is credible?

We currently have a 7% stake in VS but if you go back and read every rns , you shall see that our CEO puts certain clauses in that get us more % of VS at certain times . Our CEO is one smart cookie and I wouldn't be surprised if he got us another 3% . He has said that he can easily get funds if it's for growth and there's no better time than to do that now , just before the news comes out .Last time he raised the money for VS we got an extra piece of VS so its quite likely that this will happen again .

On the next update regarding the NHS I'm expecting that VS will be worth 100-150m ,that would make our current 7% stake worth 7m - 10.5m and we are currently have a mkt cap of 3.8m , remember this valuation is from only one of our investments which is in the very early stages still .

VS will be a company maker for Legendary !!!!

All imho so DYOR .

Our Ceo has stated that VS could easily get a mkt cap of $1 billion . That would make us worth 1.875p (off the top of my head) . I think Bosques is worth 5m as it stands and it will be worth a lot more when they list on a stock exchange (remember it's on our books at 83,000) . Zaf takes minimal wages so it's in his interest to get the share price up and he has vast experience in doing this and worldwide contacts . Amedeo will start looking very good in two years time and that's without mentioning our new gold play , where the early indications of the sampling are looking very good .

This will be above 2p easily within the next two years !!!!

I think I read somewhere that we have an option to increase that to 10%, but I may be wrong.

RTW1 would know.

They have a 7% stake as far as I'm aware. Currently equates to a value of 0.18p per share, so even now we are undervalued without anything else.

I think the talk of 1p is quite on.

Look at the mcap - it would value the whole company at a mere £24m or so.

RTW1 estimates the current value of Bosques is more than the current mcap. So, call that at 0.2p per share.

We already know VS is valued at 0.18p, but that is a very out of date valuation. Conservatively, let's double it to 0.36 and we already hit 0.56p. Throw in the value of our other holdings and a bit of speculation and good market conditions and you can see that 1p isn't as much of a fantasy as some think.

Maybe RTW1 can expand on my theory, he has plenty of research and figures at his fingertips.

a 7 bagger comes along once or twice in a lifetime of trading, I got lucky and had one last year with panr. I hope that LEG will be very successful if VS or Bos were to float, but it's not a slam dunk and to start saying we are on the way to 1p already is quite disingenuous imvho

The 1p claims, regardless of justification or lack of just make it look like a pump/dump ramp thread.

The share price is about 0.15p - 1p would represent a near 700% rise. Let's calm down just a little!
