Let’s hope all this wild unsubstantiated bid speculation keeps pumping the price up here before the next cliff drop.

Why net, for expressing a perfectly reasonable view that you don't agree with?

It's not about defeating Russia. The Americans picked a fight to ensure the on going sale of billions of overpriced weapons to their allies around the world. America is run on the industrial military complex. This is why they are always in wars which really don't have anything to do with them.

Right, I know Sam Bannkman-Fried, the Ukranian war and...err...Star Trek are key issues of the day-but can we just focus a little more on Legal and General in our postings on here please?

Thanks

Star Trek got rid of Capitalism when they invented the replicata (a machine that makes infinite copies of everything)...
Provided things are in short supply there will always be supply and demand issues and thus capitalism.
There is no answer to questions that arise from: Demand Bigger than Supply...

marx was right. sooner or later capitalism will devour itself.
where is the new hayek or freidman who can present a new paradigm to get us through the next 50 years and factors in global boiling?"

..there's a Sam Bankman-Fried if that's any help?

@adejug, 'if ukraine defeats russia it will delay it by a year or so but it will come as sure as g.. made little green apples'

I hear this said a lot, if Ukraine defeats Russia, what does Ukraine defeating Russia look like?

wllm :)

I'm no fan of the performance here but let's keep in mind that total losses over the past 12 months amount to 3.0%. Reading some of the comments on here you'd think the share price had totally collapsed!!

we all knew, 10 years ago, that there was a sovereign debt crisis waiting in the wings.
this is not it - merely a harbinger of what is to come in the next two years.

I wonder how much debt is running on credit cards. Only their interest rates never seem to relate to the base rate.

ie. Even when rate was low for years, they were running at 25+% APR.

I note that never features on Rip off Britain.

Yes and on bad news really it’s ridiculous but that’s the crazy times we live in and those corrupt manipulators clearly have free reign.

Did Barclays bother looking at the yield and valuation disparities between UK and USA stocks because it's absolutely massive and completely unjustified

Looking forward I think the dividend is safe for this year to see out the plan but what follows will largely depend on where interest rates finally level out. If we see rates at 3.5-4% as the new norm in the future best case then you will probably see a reduction in the dividend here as it stays within a new trading range.

Barclays analyst thinks bonds won’t stabilise until risk assets like stocks are repriced lower common sense when you think about it with current yields. I’m hoping that there’s nothing nasty in the upcoming trading statement that could add to that pain.

As long as the company is making progress and profit the share price to me is not important.
This is a dividend stock thats twice covered and still growing.

After 8 years the shares cost you nothing.

Even better in a SIPP or ISA.

Trend suggests we may get to £2.00 .
