Traders now pricing in 260 bps of hikes by August 2023 puting int rates in UK at 3.6%.

Seems a bit excessive with most economists stating that inflation will start to fall by the end of the year.

Looks like the arms clone Woodhawk has been told off for childish and pathetic name calling on the adult board! If I get this board right, his tantrums and sneering are what destroyed this board, so he we'll be going round the buoy again there.Poor inter-personal skills nearly always stem from a poor or vile upbringing.

There are good arguments here on both sides, for buy+hold and for trading the cycles. Or a hybrid, happy to retain this as a core holding for income while occasionally trading a few around the dividend cycle.

I didn't trade any this time though, because I remain convinced LGEN is really worth 310p+ and below that feels like selling short. Considering how sensitive LGEN is to macro economics and market sentiment picking the right time in the cycle requires a bit of luck but so does picking the bottom when accumulating.

Keep it civil please and thank you well done for moderating yourselves.

Also well done those playing the long game and taking opportunity to add the lows.

anhar. i don't have a clue when it comes to predicting share price my concerns are about the uk, global economies. i didn't mind if i called it wrongly. it was keeping me awake !
i'm lucky to be semi-retired and to have the time to do a bit of monitoring.
i want my capital to be there for my offspring. :-)

Well done then. I don't make judgements on short term considerations as I'm strictly long term, have held LGEN and many other shares for many years, and would not claim to be able to see what's coming. I don't even want to try because I know I'd be wrong much more often than right. So I stick to my strategy, simply holding HY shares in a wide range of industries with only very occasional selling. Has worked for me over decades and interestingly, capital growth hasn't been bad either though that's not at all why I do it.

anhar. i am mainly an income investor also. however, i sold most of my insurance stocks last week as i believed i could see what was coming. i am now hoping for lower re-entry points and even better divi %.
at this level, capital growth looks good also

As purely an income investor, with a diversified port and little interest in share prices or short term matters, I'd be adding more LGEN to my port right now if I wasn't already overweight in the sector (ie. AV. MNG LGEN). The historical yield of 7.8% on a 21 divi of 18.45p at 237p is highly attractive and they have a good record of increases, though they did hold it for one year in the pandemic (not bad when many were cutting) and back in 2009 they did cut it in the financial crisis. However it more than recovered in 2010.

Half year results to 30 June are due out 09 August.

Tempted for another small addition following late Friday but am holding back due to US futures looking bleak. Long term I totally agree with Spud but short term there may be a better entry point later today / tomorrow.

CWA, am I correct that it's ok to call people morons? Seems rude and unnecessary. Most would quietly filter.... not call names.

No, that's what happens in Planet of the Apes. I think you mean guerilla.

So to add to everything else a possible trade war with the EU looms as the protocol is probably about to be broken now only adding to market pressure.
