Like Tiger just bought an initial 8500 holding on the long view with NAV now 73p and annual EPS of 4p. Will continue to pick up stock if available in the mid to late 20's.

Think the Swedes have lost the plot.
Well not sure they ever knew the plot for minority shareholders.

Probably a Christmas present for Magnus from his brother.

Jan is a good guy but he really needs to step up his game here for the benefit of all shareholders.

Deal should be eps accretive.
Tidying up a loose end.
Small change. Not strategic.

Buying high street textile shops with tiny profits could be a mistake. May have been better to focus on internet only retail selling through the Hemmers Itex website. Use the existing main warehouse site and expand if it works.

Yup I like TRD a lot...don’t own it but great niche business, lots of discussion on Twitter with some v intelligent investors..I think it’s worth persevering as some discussion boards are becoming like the Mary Celeste.

i did sign up to Twitter to see what it was all about but don't really bother with it tbh.

Have you had a look at TRD? Not an asset play but looks ludicrously cheap with a decent outlook for the next couple of years at least and a cash rich balance sheet. The divi yield is a bit mean but at least they pay one.

I did the same with AIEA ..now rather a large holding for me. I bracket LDSG with SIXH as another cheap share but high opportunity cost of holding as no dividend to offset the waiting time.

BILN & HYNS I also hold as a reasonable dividend is part of the picture. Though they have strong growth as well.

Out of interest are you on Twitter?

Hi rhomboid

I'd tend to agree. I bought AIEA some years ago at 10p because I thought they were cheap and had to wait quite a few years for the price to double but at least I was getting a decent divi out of the. With Leeds you get nothing.

Hi Arthur

The lack of a dividend kills it for me..cheap going nowhere is tolerable if I’m being well paid to wait

Is anyone still around? I'm giving some though to buying back in just because the discount to TNA is so large and the Swedes finally seem to have stopped running this entirely like their own little plaything but it pays no dividend and the price has gone virtually nowhere in 20 years so i'm not sure it's worth it.

No divi and the share price has dropped 25% since the end of 2017.

Arthur, better than NAR is not a great sell, you know.

I know it's pretty dull and they steadfastly refuse to pay a dividend, but as far as I can see eps has more than doubled over the last 5 years or so and TNAV has gone up by about 50%. OK a fair bit of that may be the weakness of the pound at the moment but it still doesn't seem too bad.

I mean it's got to be better than NAR which loses money every year and the NAV is going down. Both similar companies.

I sold out of these years ago, thankfully for a profit, but am beginning to wonder whether they aren't perhaps worth revisiting. The discount to net assets is massive, the pe is reasonable, the only thing holding it back is the lack of a divi and I can't see that changing for some years down the line.

I guess it could be dead money for a while but i'm sure eventually the value will out.

It is the track record that causes the share price to slumber.

He does not accept that word.

He views cash as best utilised in the company's hands rather than those of individual shareholders.

The irony is this causes the shares to trade at a discount. The larger the discount, the greater value for shareholders when it comes to share buy-backs.
