Russman: Doesn't matter about the style. What matters is getting shareholders onboard, financing potentially good earning acquisitions and the like.

No divi, it is not the Swedes' style.

It looks like a good deal to me and is at least related to Hemmers unlike the dodgy sub prime mortgage extravaganza they invested in some years ago.

This seems to me a natural deal and not too expensive so we have no reason to think its a bad investment.

Crikey - a deal. It seems a very conservative investment. On the other hand, I know zilch about retailing fabrics in the Rhineland.

Odd that they should announce this appointment today instead of yesterday at the AGM. A directorship of a Man who was finance director at Dawson Plc that went bust & cost us over a million pounds !!!

I was going but due to them holding their AGM in Yorkshire's tallest building I have decided against attending. Leeds City Council closed the roads around Bridgewater Place at 10:30 BST after the Met Office warned the area could be hit by gusts of up to 60mph. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-29695273

Maybe but not RMS Titanic. No sane soul would try to sell >NMS before 8.30.

Ah ok thanks. Can't say I generally trade watch on this share - a bit like trainspotting in the middle of the Atlantic ;-)

Shall we stay focused. How about Sperati (CA) - Kentucky Oil & Gas.

Russman. Once upon a time large [last century] but now 'Diminished' is perhaps more apt. LDSG needs a Doug Ware:WRN formerly S.Jerome [another textile] has soared with a new 'Investment Opportunities'[questionable] strategy....lol

Never associated LDSG with anything Large. Did think that they were trying once, the boat has now left without them. Do give them my regards.

I can only assume that with nav nudging 50 pence, cash balances continuing to accumulate; then in the absence of 'suitable investment opportunities' it makes a certain sense to repurchase their own stock below nav as & when large lines of stock become available.

Given that I've never credited the guy for his cheque-writing ability, just look at the price he is now paying compared with historical buy-backs.

Good results just the accompanying statement filled me with dread & apprehension: 'No dividend proposed while Board continues search for suitable investment opportunities' Given past catastrophic 'investment opportunities' this does not auger well for future shareholder value !!! [MBO could be the most suitable exercise given the small & presently undervalued mkt cap & limited/niche growth prospects] I do hope I am wrong. Imho LDSG would be better as a private company & this has been the case for many years now..
