Hi active,

I suppose to be fair the weekend papers had plenty to write about without needing to look at what is, after all, a smallcap retailer which doesn't seem inclined to promote itself to the financial media.

Frustrating, but I think as shareholders it's just something we have to accept. That's the way they are and I can't honestly see them changing any time soon.

Morning all

I did not see a mention of aly in the weekend papers,
makes you think are they attempting to hide good news
as the percentage increase on the eps was extremely
good and it also supports a share price of around 35
-36p.

Fact number 1 = there is no (zero) premium for a take over in the share price

The share price will stay at 30p, because he wants that.

GARY - Having looked at the AGM rns from 2014, you are of course correct. My post was based on the advfn dividend payment info on the Financials page which I now see appears to have omitted last year's Final payment for the last two years.

I would also point out that I was merely querying your previous post and think that your rather arrogant response ("speedsgh, I take it you cannot read then") was completely uncalled for. Do you treat people in the same way when you speak to them face to face?

speedsgh, I take it you cannot read then. Last years Final Dividend XD was 14/04/2014 and Payable on the 15/05/2014 this years is nearly 2 months after these dates XD 11/06/2015 Payable 03/07/2015.You need to do more research. Active, If ALY is taken out, I can give you a choice of 8 stocks paying over 7% and not GVC or HGM

Retail is fiercely competitive, only need to look at the woes of Tesco. So at least they have grown the sales, maintained the dividend etc. Think positive.

Not sure why everyone is pushing for a sale,
I am quite happy with the 7% dividend, alot higher
on my earlier purchases.

I just think they need to get a new young recognised
fashion designer in.

GARYCOOK - share your thoughts 100%. This has to be a screaming take out opportunity. It has a respected brand name and and lots of untapped business potential - you only need to walk into a store to see that. Happy to hold for a good %age dividend but confident the real premium will be realised on a buy out - hopefully sooner rather than later.

from the weekend press.

Profits up, eps growth up, cash pile up dividend
maintained, I am happy.

Talk of maximising international franchise market.

Friday afternoon does seem like an odd time to be announcing results. Most companies seem to do it at 7am or shortly after. Is this normal for ALY? (I have held for less than a year.)

PE of 13.4 at 29p before results,
due to eps of 2.51p growing at 16%
we can move to 33p to be valued the same
after the results as before.

A close above 30p, would be very positive indeed.

Some good sized buys coming in now.

They will play it, this is their nature.

They would keep any special divi, and ammend the accounts.

All I amm saying is, the lack of news is a worry......why is he doing this.
