30/12/2005 09:49 | well not alot said on this board.. anyway for the three mounths up to xmas the man safe on roof seems to be taking off. plus into the new year, im holding and expecting a massive increase in profits when this company releases a update on turnover.. if the shareprice drifts down ill be topping up .. good luck in the new year im saying this share price will be £8/9 end of 2006 :>) | ![]() plastow
14/11/2005 09:34 | Plastow - Thanks for the info on volumes - very usefull. I added a few more early last week. After today's cracking results I added some more. The tightening of Health and Safety regulation in the UK and Europe will continue to drive sales growth for years to come. Still good long term value in my opinion. | ![]() geovest
14/11/2005 08:28 | Very impressive results. All organic growth. Strong second half ahead as well. I'd say brokers upgrades on the way from 31.3p to , I'd guess, 38-40p putting them on a PE of 14. Given they're a world leader and with Europe opening up and the US still to open up, there's a lot of potential here. I've added a few more. * Group turnover increased by 32% to £14.10 million (2004: £10.71 million) * Operating profit increased by 43% to £3.01 million (2004: £2.10 million) * Profit before tax increased by 50% to £3.01 million (2004: £2.01 million) * Diluted earnings per share increased by 45% to 18.62 pence (2004: 12.83p) * Net cash generated from operations 134% of operating profit (2004: 104%) * Net cash position of £1.7 million (2004: Net debt of £1.8 million) * Interim dividend increased by 10% to 3.85 pence (2004: 3.50 pence) | ![]() wjccghcc

26/10/2005 16:53 | hi yes your right but i think the growth is larger than you think this mounth the fall arrest system has taken off ten fold .. | ![]() plastow
26/10/2005 07:54 | Have a few also. Leader in their sector and should chug out 15%+ earnings growth for the foreseeable future which ain't bad at this price and in these uncertain times. | ![]() wjccghcc
26/10/2005 07:44 | Hello plastow. Yes, I'm out here, retaining my holding in LTC. As someone with safety responsibilities at work, I'm well aware of the increasing volume (and rigour) of EU safety legislation, from which I believe companies like Latchways will continue to benefit. I see Latchways as a steady rather than a stellar performer, but growth rates of well above 10% p.a. over the medium term look to me to be entirely reasonable. I'm happy with the management and with the environment in which Latchways works. A nice little - but growing - company. | ![]() toriel
14/10/2005 13:38 | hi anyone out there im into this share because i only live a few miles away and making components for this company .. latchways are very busy... | ![]() plastow
05/9/2005 15:46 | An interesting group of companies. A definite slant towards the IT area, but if one is to see well above average growth that's not unexpected. I'm not familiar with all five, but at first glance I think I'm right in saying there's a larger than average spread amongst the forecasts by analysts for the earnings of these companies. That is a measure of the risk of course, but at least a couple of these look worth following up. Thanks for the suggestions. Does anyone else have alternatives? | ![]() toriel
02/9/2005 16:38 | Toriel - Smaller Companies I like (and hold) with strong competitive advantage in their markets, good margins and strong cashflow: Dicom (DCM) - Market leader in electronic data capture market CSR (CSR) - Market leader in Bluetooth technology Domino Printing (DNO) - World leader in inkjet and laser print technology Celsis (CEL) - Microbiological detection and analysis Neteller (NLR) - World leader in e-wallet Have fun! | ![]() geovest
02/9/2005 07:45 | The news feeds report some very positive comments to be made at the AGM today about current trading. It looks as though Latchways is continuing to strengthen its position in the safety sector. I hold a fair stake in the company, bought early this year, and am happy to hold for the medium to long term. Latchways is the kind of company I like - strong products in a niche market, built-in market growth (in Latchways' case, because of increasing safety regulation), a sound reputation and a smallish well-run company. Would anyone like to propose their favourite companies having similar competitive advantages in other sectors? | ![]() toriel
21/1/2005 13:30 | Quite a little flurry of non-institutional selling this morning, immediately following (but hardly likely to be brought about by...!) my last post. Volume is already four times normal, so I presume that some press comment has appeared. Reaction of the market makers has been to push the price up, to try to discourage selling one imagines. I'd be interested in any comments on the reason for the sudden (modest) increase in activity. Has IC or some similar mag produced a comment? | ![]() toriel
21/1/2005 08:47 | Nothing on this board for months, so time for a quick post. I've looked at LTC for some time, but never yet bought. I'm interested on the recent sharp dip which has occurred on slight volume, (apart from a large sale by a director "to meet tax obligations"). I have my doubts that this sale is the underlying reason for the fall, and assume it's more likely to be market makers repositioning the price after the big rise from last November. Does anyone have any recent news about trading? There's been nothing about trading for a little while. It looks as though the shares have further to fall, but a few more weeks like the last couple and they will be down to prices that offer good value. However, I'd like to get a feel for current trading before stepping in to this market. If anyone has had recent contact with company and can provide an update, I'd be interested. | ![]() toriel
