THe new rights issue has a ticker LAMN currently trading at 67.25

Is anyone trading these? Will these morph into LAM in the future?

It is more about turning pipeline to contracts which this is imho.

All good.

Its bringing in the contracts, no values mentioned, so at 10,000 tonnes, its not a big project, but pleasing to see. The turnaround here has credibility.

CONTRACT AWARD

Lamprell (ticker: LAM), a leading provider of diversified engineering and contracting services to the onshore and offshore oil & gas and renewable energy industries, is pleased to announce that it has received a new contract award from Petrofac Emirates L.L.C. ("Petrofac") for the fabrication and delivery of 29 modules.

The modules are being constructed for use in connection with the Zakum Development Company (ZADCO, one of Abu Dhabi Oil Company (ADNOC) Group of Companies) landmark Upper Zakum, UZ750 (EPC-2) field development in Abu Dhabi. The estimated total weight for all of the modules will be approximately 10,000 tonnes. Lamprell is scheduled to deliver the first shipment of modules in Q2 2015, with the final pipe-rack expected to be delivered in Q1 2016.

James Moffat, Chief Executive Officer, Lamprell, said:

"We are pleased to announce this new contract from Petrofac, for whom Lamprell completed similar works last year for the Laggan Tormore development in the North Sea. We have established a strong track record in the offshore and onshore construction sector which is one of Lamprell's core markets, and we continue to see further growth opportunities."

dean,
I only use them for holding funds and I don't think they charge at all for dealing so the overall fees are 0.25% on the first million and nothing after that, plus of course they get their trail commission.
My limited share dealing all takes place within my pension plan through a local provider.
The trouble with being offshore is simply that the likes of trustdirect and AJBell/YouInvest are very low margin businesses and don't understand the tax reporting and deductions they (don't) need to do for offshore clients. So unless you can give them a UK address and NI number you cannot apply online, and then if you try to apply over the phone they say it is not possible. HL, for all the extra cost (and it probably is £2k a year more expensive for me) do at least want my business!

MF, what do you have to pay per trade and what paperwork do they require for you being offshore?

I use internax, whilst the dealing fees are high (compared to UK dealing)if you trade 30 times in a year there are no holding fees.

On topic, great to see prudential continuing to buy in.

I got their charges for holding fund reduced from 0.5 to 0.25% and then no fee from over £1m. I know fixed fee providers would be cheaper but as I am offshore HL are the only ones geared up for me.

Mad foetus - what areas of the HL charges did you manage to negotiate on?

I wonder to what extent this rights issue is being taken up,
would be great to see some renewed interest in the share as a result.

I like what I see from Moffatt in terms of (perceived) leadership skills, and the latest slew of contract news would indicate that they're on the right track to convert the famous pipeline into hard cash. I've taken up 90% of my allocation, I hope it's the right action...

One thing I do like, is that now the company will be a little better funded (not as much as I'd like to see, but still.) so they can start bidding for some projects that were out of reach recently. Let's hope it materialises into something big soon.

Any bets on when we'll get the next contract RNS?

I like the service at HL and mainly use them for investing in funds but I had to call up and beat them down on fees as if you have a decent amount to invest they fleece you. We reached a compromise in the end that works.

@Todismypal So which broker do you use now? Presumably you find them to be better.

I've been with HL for 30 years and have always found them reliable, but they are now charging on anything that moves - I don't recall paying to take up a rights issue before.

Moved from Hargreaves Lansdown years ago after the days of the TESSA (remember them??) I was astounded to find then that they were charging me more in fees to recover the tax element of my TESSA than I was actually saving having the taz free investment in the first place. They have a tendency to stick a fee on everything. Then of course they floated on the market and charge for everything now.

Re Skinny's entry (13407), I am amazed that he is being charged By HL whether he buys or sells. I have the use of 2 brokerages who charge not a penny. I find it hard to understand why HL is so big and successful with this approach.
Is HL becoming the Ryanair of the investing world.
Watch out skinny or you will have to pay to go to the loo.

Todismypal, I think different brokers are asking for rights holders to make their intentions known by slightly different dates. Mine, for example wants to know by close of business on the 18th. All of them however will be following the same timetable in other respects as they have no choice.
