The share price has not been listening - dropped below 170p - mind you I would still put good money on a blue finish

broadwood thanks for that I had forgotten the date of the AGM. Should be yet another good day for LAM. Will be most interesting to watch share price movement after the rights issue is out of the way - it certainly looks as though the LAM share price has traction at long last.

A bit of a confusing set of holding RNS today morning, but managed to decipher them. Basically Prudential and its subsidiaries increased holding from 5% to 10% in April (before rights announcement) and have increased by another 1.2m shares last week. The increase in holding in April did not get announced due to their systems issue.

Well, I dipped my toe in at 1143 shares. Prudential like it today so that has to be a reassurance. It's been on my watchlist for years. I hope it will be one of the more stable growth stocks for the near future. Ironically AIM is probably a better place to be for resource stocks in a market that people keep saying will correct sometime.

Ceph Glad you got it straightened out. I must admit to a degree of confusion myself. In any event the share price of LAM looks set fair at least for the next few months or so. A return of the dividend would be an additional bonus

Hi Todismypal, I just got off the phone to selftrade because I needed to check. A couple of seniors there confirmed it is ok buying until tomorrow 4.30pm for selftrade customers.
It is quite confusing seeing the record date is stated to be the 6th, but I am assured this is now the case.
I will take a punt here now anyway

Ceph Are you sure re the dates??? I was pretty certain as holders we could buy up to the 11th June and these shares would qualify for the rights issue by an amount equal to 5/16 of the amount bought. I agree there is a bit of confusion re entitlement dates, record dates etc. I could of course be wrong (not for the first time) I attempted to read the entire prospectus but at over 90 pages I found the read an excellent cure for insomnia and precious little else

Would like to get hold of some of these rights but the record date has past (6th June) on which you need to be holding to qualify. The way I understand it - Holders who acquired shares by 6pm on the 6th should not sell until 8am on the 11th to be entitled to their rights.

so was today the record date, or is 11th the record date? i.e. are any shares purchased early next week entitled to rights?

I have been buying before, I will buy my full entitlement and I
will also continue to buy afterwards, as in my honest opinion
this will recover to the recent past highs (300p min),
recommence the dividend soon after and then announce more of the
massive bid pipeline. This has been held back due to all the
recent funding issues.

Talked to Barclays stkbrkrs. They said 11th is the day we become eligible and nil paid rights will appear in account after which you can either by the rights or sell if you wish. As durby says above.

If today is the record date, if I sell my holding today am I still eligible for the rights ?. Or is the record taken as holdings at end of trading today ?.
The reason I ask is that I don't have funds for the rights so need to sell some shares to pay for the rights but not sure when best time to do this would be ?.
All good advice welcome.

fearnwood - Share will be priced ex rights on 11th. On the same day the rights will start trading separately (as a separate security) as nil paid rights. The share price (ex rights) should be theoretically be trading at 88p + price of the rights security.

But yes you are correct in saying that many a times the rights trade at a discount - but that's mostly for securities where rights issue was not seen favorably by the market.

Durby - I've never seen rights traded at 100% of the difference. Why would anybody pay that, they may as well wait for the shares to be priced ex-rights and buy those. The only exception might be if there were strong reason to believe that the share price was going to rise sharply and you wanted to lock in the price.

Hi all,

I recently bought in here as a recovery play after noticing the relative strength had started to turn positive over the last few months.

I've tweeted about this recently and the following chart (for those interested) would suggest a revisit to circa 240p which would tie in nicely with previous support & resistance.
