13/10/2019 11:17 | I have been catching up here to see what I should do with my holding. I have held since August last year at an average in price of 27.5. I have to say I was disconcerted when I went on to the website and the first thing I saw was Special Offer and if you buy a certain radiation detector by October 15 you get another bit of kit for free. I thought I was invested in a cutting edge technology company where the key marketing gambit is technology rather than price rather than fast moving consumer products company. There may well be commercial logic in this free offer but to have it so in your face is, to me, very unfortunate corporate branding. Other views welcome. Did anyone make the AGM?. I see all resolutions easily passed so the 143m who voted by proxy out of a total electorate of 345m seemed happy. This is a voter turnout that I would have expected given the share register and would suggest that both Miton voted and perhaps Cannaccord and that they are on board. In addition one assumes that the CEO voted in person his 0.9% holding. I did run into a NED and passed on my comments that the timing of the AGM is not shareholder friendly. I have no problem it being at the company’s factory but the 10am timing clearly is not one to encourage private shareholders to be there. Nor is there any talk of factory tours for shareholders that engaged companies offer. Apart from the ED notes, they show no evidence to engage with private shareholders ie on the website there are no webcasts of company presentations or even of the AGM itself. I could understand this if they had a strong institutional backing and with voter turnout in the 65%+ range that it is for some AIM companies with a big intuitional shareholding. The number of shares held by the 3%+ ers is 53% which suggests retail shareholders are not unimportant. I see ED’s reports suggest no new funds needed in the immediate future-perhaps ever barring any major corporate development. This does seem optimistic but they did have £20m in cash at the end of April and no debt concerns; thus even if they were to repeat the cash burn of £11m in 18/19 and the £10min 17/18, they have no need to go back to the markets in the new future. It is for this reason and good old fashioned lethargy that I will stick with what I have but cannot summon the conviction to buy more. Appreciate the views of others PS Should I be surprised that with the depressed sp, the exchange rate and the not very strong shareholder base they have not received an offer? | cerrito | |

03/10/2019 13:04 | Eh ? And in this week's Taking Stock Mark Robinson argues that small-cap and Aim stocks will suffer if they play fast and loose with pre-emptive rights. Some readers got in touch regarding several recent share placings and they're not happy. For example, one reader was far from impressed by the 1:65 entitlement ratio linked to the open offer after Kromek decided to tap the market. They weren't the only ones. There's The Ince Group, which bypassed retail investors in favour of | chimers |
