The Chairman & media mogul Lord Waheed Alli is seriously connected & with over GBP 200 MILLION of his own. The company has already invested over GBP 70 million IN marketing & creating a brand from scratch. They have been in serious talks for several months & in advance negotiations recently. Not forgetting bringing on KPMG's Nina Amin MBE, a chartered accountant with massive experience in emerging markets & India. Buying volumes on Friday have never been seen before in this STOCK- fact! I think some of the new investors have already started to buy : )
There was a decent buy of 335,689 shares right at the death on Friday at above the ASK. Tomorrow should be very interesting..

A very good read

Unconnected to KOOVS, but it may be worth a read. Explains about the benefits of putting the shareholders first - for the benefit of the shareholders as well as the corporate investors. This may explain why Koovs intends to do fundraising @ 25p and avoid diluting shareholders too much, ie, priority number 1 is to look after the shareholders and make them WANT to invest and STAY invested. Happy, well rewarded shareholders = plenty of buys keep coming in & plenty of interest from new investors and consequently a rising share price = all corporate investors / major shareholders / CLN holders etc ultimately benefit by supporting the principle that the shareholders come first (they do this by agreeing things like fundraising at a premium to the current share price and minimising dilution etc - in the short term it may seem unattractive for them but by focusing on the shareholders and making the terms of any fundraising as attractive as possible for Investors, in the long run Koovs is seen as a great company to invest in that really looks after it's shareholders (which attracts more and more investors and boosts sentiment and morale) and so in the long run everyone benefits from that, including the major holders and corporate investors).

Any fund-raising here has to be at the expense of existing shareholders. Even if it's convertible loan stock. Only Ali can save the day and even then it will be at the expense of existing shareholders. Not a bad company and it's in a great marketplace, but heavily reliant on marketing to gain sales and branding. The next owners, whoever they may be will see the benefit of this.

If they can convince investors to put money in at 25p a share, when it’s only at 6p now, on the back of saying they’ve expended £70million, and achieved flat to reducing sales for the current year, in an online retail e-commerce environment, fair play to them.

BUT, I wouldn’t touch this one now with a barge pole. What on eRth is £50 million going to do for them, that £70 million couldn’t do?

You certainly shouldn’t need anything like that kind of money for marketing in the online world of today to be successful...

There will get the funds I'm 100%.sure , yes we have many online operators out today than before but this one is India first one , you need to understand the concept of Koovs than other India operators of online business . Indian market does not work like the western world and it doesn't work the same as China totally different .

75m and now 50m.

The question is, have they managed to sustain revenue growth or not against marketing spend.

do you still hold?

Look, from where I am sitting, they've had a good run. When asos started, no one else was around. simple. When amazon started, no one else was around.

Today, the market place is fickle and changing fast. Its good to try, I agree, but koovs needs some serious money, something I can't see it getting if it does not get serious repeat customers.

Too much hype here today.

There is NOT any new funding in place. Just because a vague random post on here says otherwise doesn't make it true.

It's looking a bit dicey for KOOVS. They have 4 months of cash (£3.5m) left at the current burn rate. KOOVS have eaten their way through £75m in the 4 years since coming to the market with the promise of profitability by now. They're talking about now raising at LEAST another £50m!!! They are not even making a profit and never have. Once the £3.5m cash has gone then what? They themselves say sales are currently lower but the loss is therefore proportionally lower! Well, every cloud huh!

This has become a binary play. They either get the funding (and then some) they've been trying to get since last summer... ....or they don't.
In the face of competition and discount wars, it's simply a matter of who has the biggest backers to weather it out. And they are up against some of the big boys.

Be careful where you put your money.

Worth reading this 48 page research note by respected analysts Hardman & Co who imply a 25p placing of 200 million shares. Could not buy anywhere near that as this Share is too illiquid.Http://www.hardmanandco.com/docs/default-source/company-docs/koovs-plc-documents/01.03.18-poised-to-clean-up-the-emerging-asos-of-india.pdf

why is it worth buying at these levels, other day day trade the 40% profit. Its loss making, may never make any money without spending loads on marketing. If they never get traction back from existing customers, it will never work.
