The Company is focused on building, in collaboration with its major shareholder and offtake partner, Ganfeng Lithium (the world's largest lithium metals producer), a 35,000 tonne per annum open pit lithium carbonate operation at its flagship asset, the Sonora Lithium Project in Mexico. The Sonora Lithium Project has 8.8 million tonnes of lithium carbonate (Li(2) CO(3) ) equivalent resources, with an approximate 250-year resource life, as detailed in its December 2017 Feasibility Study. Sonora Lithium Ltd ("SLL") is the operational holding company for the Sonora Lithium Project and owns 100% of the La Ventana concession. The La Ventana concession accounts for 88% of the mined ore feed in the Sonora Feasibility Study which covers the initial 19 years of the project mine life. 06/5/2021 14:53 | BCN FS s announced on 13 December 2017, a Feasibility Study ("FS") confirmed the positive economics and favourable operating costs of a 35,000 tpa battery grade Li2CO3 operation at Sonora. Using revenues based on a flat US$11,000/t for battery grade Li2CO3 over Life of Mine ("LOM"), which is significantly below the current Li2CO3 price range of US$16,000 - 20,000/t*, the FS estimated a pre-tax project Net Present Value of US$1.253 Billion, an Internal Rate of Return of 26.2%, and LOM operating costs of US$3,910/t Li2CO3. At US$3,910/t, Sonora would rank among the lowest cost producers of Li2CO3 in the world. The Bacanora Board of Directors believe Sonora is ideally placed to become a major supplier of battery grade Li2CO3 to fast growing industries, such as electric vehicles and energy storage. In line with this, detailed engineering design work is underway at the Project and further updates will be provided to the market in due course. FS for BCN = NPV of $1.25billion with IRR 26% FS for KOD = NPV exceed $1.4bilion with IRR 58%- see RNS | deanmatlazin | |
