20/9/2018 21:37 | Whatsup. Buy backs have ended, one of the reasons i bought,(no longer holding),spoke to one of the unified team who is responsible for over 20 stores,he did mention the point you made regarding different requirements in other countries. He came over very confident in the 5yr plan of £500m of operating profit (extra),still only 6 months into model (so early days),i see heads have already rolled "though".Personally think they have a few other issues to sort out, nevertheless they are at the early stages of interest. | contrarian joe
19/9/2018 21:31 | contrarian joe. They are throwing good money away with this share buy backs. They are wasting their time with the 5 year plan. One size fits all won’t work in so many different countries Still no solution to B&Q | whatsup32
19/9/2018 21:14 | Just briefly gone through results, down over 27% if you include another set of exceptional s. | contrarian joe
19/9/2018 20:45 | They have finished the 10% discount for pensioners on a Wednesday which is a big mistake imo,Wed is their big weekday profit taker, stores have been like a normal weekday the last couple of Wednesday's,(so I've been told) they've targeted the biggest disposable incomers, customer loyalty will likely be damaged. | contrarian joe
19/9/2018 17:05 | Agreed. Holding TUI , trade update this Friday not sure what to expect | whatsup32
19/9/2018 16:07 | Neither am I, too many uncertainties. Not sure it's even worth watching anymore. | essentialinvestor
19/9/2018 15:50 | Essential. Why would they , B&Q stores are way too big for the current market requirements. The rent and rates together with the staff requirements must be hurting add to that the fall in sales, it’s torture. 5 year plan seems to be one size fits all and that won’t work. Kingfisher operates in different countries and therefore requires different marketing stock and stores . Screwfix is the only part holding Kingfisher together I am not holding KGF | whatsup32
19/9/2018 15:36 | In the last 12 months cash balances have reduced by £551, that's astounding. Best hope is one of the US giants come knocking at some point. | essentialinvestor
19/9/2018 15:21 | 16 August I stated Kingfisher continues to say all is good and she is on plan. Is the plan to waste the cash at hand buying shares back. How much has the company actually lost in pursuing this lost cause. That cash should be held in the account for rainy days. If all is well then why is the share price going down (7 year lows) Why is France going down Why is B&Q not transformed I think investors willl be questioning this 5 year plan as should the management | whatsup32
19/9/2018 08:03 | Mentioned previously I found a couple of last year's conference calls unconvincing. What happens to profitability when the next recession strikes?. | essentialinvestor
10/9/2018 23:12 | Interesting to see what the cash position is on the H1 next week. Looking very ugly share price wise atm. | essentialinvestor
16/8/2018 18:32 | As predicted (see above) Homebase’s problems have not helped Kingfisher. Although a rosy picture was presented in the latest results , it seems analysts could see through it and the share price dropped accordingly. Kingfisher continues to say all is good and she is on plan. I hope so for the holders | whatsup32
29/6/2018 12:43 | sicker. It’s not normal for me to find such service from the big companies. I was pleased with Screwfix that I had to post that. I’ve been in and out of KGF for over 1.5 years . Very happy with the performance of Screwfix and dissatisfied with B&Q . I don’t think Homebase’s problems will help Kingfisher Not holding now. | whatsup32
29/6/2018 07:46 | whatsup32, Hope you picked up their catalogoue,a good read of 962 pages :-) | sicker
28/6/2018 20:00 | Today I had a delivery from Screwfix (a palet of paving stones). Ordering online could not have been simpler, I phoned the number on confirmation mail to get an update on delivery and a human been in U.K. answered on the first ring. They checked with the carrier and called back in 5 minutes . Then the company they source from called me to say when the delivery will be made. Then the carrier called to say it would be delivered before 4PM. When the delivery was not made by 4pm I called the company they source from and they arranged for a special delivery on a van from Ipswich. This is what I call service. Thank you Screwfix | whatsup32
27/6/2018 18:55 | Short position in KGF 5.7% . | whatsup32
25/5/2018 07:30 | Homebase sold for a nominal amount. Likely store closures, with KGF perhaps a main beneficiary. | essentialinvestor

24/5/2018 18:47 | Ed. That is an excellent idea. Big shed stores are over yes dump B&Q name . Bunnings had the right idea to change the name Homebase. I have tried B&Q stores and never liked service ,price or location. Screwfix on the other hand has excellent service, price and locations . | whatsup32
24/5/2018 12:25 | Ed, appreciate the view as always. | essentialinvestor |
